Our dogs for sure and of course my favorite Stanley. He is definitely a character, at times very high maintenance but he keeps us on our toes!
He loves to unwrap gifts, he is always very amusing Christmas morning and wants to unwrap everyone’s gifts.

Finding” awe moments” usually while travelling!

An unexpected gesture from a loved one.

Helios, my four-legged buddy. He always makes me smile, especially when he rolls on his back and waves his paws in the air, in sheer joy of being alive and anticipation of a belly rub.
Some music can also be counted on to make me smile.

Kid´s play and joy; my godson who sometimes is joking me in a loving manner; a heartfelt smile of my fellow people is echoed by a heartfelt smile. Thank you for all your beautiful contributions.

Our cat Tiggs (short for Tigger), showing how happy he is to see my husband come into the house by stretching out on his back, showing his tummy, and doing moves we call the “scroll and roll”, pulling himself along the floor.

Sunshine after rain. (We’ve had atmospheric rivers pouring through the area of western Washington where I live)

    Chocolate!

Unexpectedly encountering someone I know when I’m just out and about. Since we moved 3 years ago I still don’t know lots of people in this town so running into someone who says “Hi Barb!” definitely makes me smile.

Going back to a former hometown to see one of my best friends and my oldest daughter; my daughter gives the most fabulous fierce hugs.

Seeing my younger daughter, who’s living a traveling life so it’s a rare treat to see her, and getting a hug.

    Riding my bike.

My husband’s ability to come up with a rewrite of song lyrics to fit whatever’s happening in the moment. We’re both good at rhyming so sometimes it’s a collaborative effort.

The smell of fresh food, the sound of my friend’s and family voices, the touch of my lover’s hand, the sight of a rainbow.

Activity in the backyard/meadow area … birds and squirrels, especially. Children being children. I don’t see that too much at this time of year, mostly at the beach in warmer seasons. Movies, occasionally. My grand-pups when they are in the area, which is usually holiday gathering time.

Oh!! that is an easy question today…Just reading it made me smile!! My dog and cats always make me smile…seeing animals ..deer, chipmunks, goats, sheep, cows- and the birds….hawks especially! All of nature is a gift…the sunshine …the rain…I am so grateful for the gift of sight!
