In my life, what brings about a beaming smile?

    M’y partner, my spouse. For a long time I thought that after my first marriage more than 30 years ago that I would not have someone to share life with. I had several relationships between but it wasn’t until I met my wife 21 years ago that I found someone with whom I can connect with, with whom we are present for each other when needed. I’ve learned to appreciate her a lot more over time as we walk this journey.

    Halloween, October, butch lesbians, my family – cooking for them my favorites (my sauerbraten has been marinating for over a week, cooking it right now, my chili, St. Patrick’s day meal), nature, and gratefulness. Happy Halloween/Samhain everyone!

      I deleted that first response. Wow. Unneeded. Freedom of speech does not mean use that right to disturb the peace of mind of others but that was not my intention however after I wrote it I realized how it might.

    Kids. Always have and always will. I am very fortunate in that I work in daycare. I get to enjoy the children everyday and then I get to give them back at the end of the day. Much like a grandparent. Lol

    Watching the antics of our granddaughter River, age two, as she masters her world.

      Mine is almost 4 now… and surprising and unexpected blessing, her parents moved to our area from across the country shortly after her birth. And now she’s joined by an 11 month old brother. And the hugs and smiles are beyond words…

        For sure, Patricia! We are blessed with seven grandchildren, ages two through 15 and they all live very close by. Something’s always going on all the time!

    Children and Dogs (sometimes cats). When I come across them in my day they always bring a smile to my face. I had a Russian Jack Russell in my Uber the other day. Yes! Russian! He was born in Russia and only understands Russian so I could not properly address him. And then later that day I had a small maybe 1 and a half year old boy in the car...so good! And fascinated by me...but I only got to bond at the end of the drive as I was so focused on keeping us alive weaving through the Miami rush ho...
