So thank you for the question!! So much more grateful and happy 0 Reply Ose1 year agoOseSupposing there is not a single event or encounter, which is not for learning opens to accept any given moment, sadness as well as joy, peaceful moments as well as fearful ones as something, which is as it is for the moment being. It does not mean it lasts, as everything does not last, rather it means to stay open and see the possibility for change at any given moment. That we are free to learn and to unfold through experiencing what life offers and that we are all in this together. It encourages me even more to trust and to reach out hands to all. My walls would become bridges. 2 Reply Ian1 year agoIanMy heart would be more open because I would be eager to learn from every moment rather than judging the way things are going. 5 Reply Elizabeth M Jones1 year agoElizabeth M JonesI will see things differently and not feel the pain so deeply. 4 Reply Kat1 year agoKatI would see everything that happens as a contribution to my life, and also that everything I say and do is a contribution to others. 5 Reply Randy Shinn1 year agoRandy ShinnAllow me to smile and be positive 5 Reply Mica1 year agoMicaI would stop being angry about things and at people. I’m making progress, but I still have a way to go. Adyashanti has a lovely description of this: ‘arguing with Reality.’ Such a silly thing to do, when one thinks of it that way. 5 Reply Sarah1 year agoSarahWe live our lives forward, but we learn from looking backwards. 3 Reply The Night Queen1 year agoThe Night QueenI may have an adjusted outlook if I believed everything was happening simply for me to learn, however, it feels like a stretch for me to believe this. We may always have opportunities to learn from a situation but there are too many terrible, horrendous and unjust things happening in this world for me to believe they are only a learning opportunity. 4 Reply Journey1 year agoJourneyIf I believed that everything this is happening can be for my learning, I would lean into the situation and look to learn and grow and evolve from it. I believe I need to be silent and go inside and look within to find out what any current event in my life is teaching me. Whether it's a problem or a conversation or an experience, what do I need to learn from it. I need to be silent and listen to it. I am more aware and conscious of my thought and thought patter than before. Whether it’s a problem or a conversation or an experience, what do I need to learn from it. I need to be silent and listen to it. I am more aware and conscious of my thought and thought patter than before. I catch myself when I am judgmental or hard on people or have negative thoughts. However I am not yet at the point where I can turn that consciousness into action, into change. Even those sources once thought to be totally reliable have occasionally been compromised by skillfully prepared propaganda designed to mislead its audience. As a result, we must all be prepared to withhold judgement of a particular person or incident based solely on one news source or internet meme until we are reasonably certain of its veracity and accuracy. The objective of those sponsoring such disinformation is to alienate us from each other so they can take advantage of our mutual distrust of ourselves, of each other, and of news sources in general. Unfortunately, they have been successful on many occasions that we are aware of. In how many more occasions have they prevailed that we are still unaware of? sb Read More2 Reply 1 year agoit depends on my willingness to learn. I have often noticed that in the hardest circumstances I tend to close my heart and mind like a hedgehog. 4 Reply Rena Barker1 year agoRena BarkerRich, tick, meaningful 2 Reply GCharlotte1 year agoGCharlotteI might be more optimistic about the future if I thought everything happening is about learning. I would feel greater gratitude for the endeavors of everyday life. For the most part I do see living as a learning experience. I find God all the more bountiful. 3 Reply Sarah1 year agoSarahI feel often that everything is happening at the proper time, but I really don’t usually think about it being “for my learning.” Belief in providential timing for my learning might open me up to longer periods of knowing the “peace that passes understanding.” It might increase my patience and gratefulness for the now. 3 Reply Carla1 year agoCarlaI know that each experience & event that transpires is for my learning. Do I “lean in” more to God as I understand the Divine to walk with & guide me through the experience(s) so that it may be useful to others is the question that unfolds from this original question. 2 Reply Michele1 year agoMicheleI also believe that everything that is happening I can learn from. Each day may offer new experience and even the past offers learning from it. I love today’s word of the day-Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust Great way to start the day:) 5 Reply Pilgrim1 year agoPilgrimI do believe all can be for my learning. Question to myself is, am I willing/ready to learn. 7 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
