I work for an awesome company with great benefits. I’ve done my fair share of working different shifts and working holidays so I am enjoying this. My older cat, Hannah, has a vet appt – hoping to find out what is going on with her – she is constantly hungry. She will be 16 in March… Happy New Year’s Eve everyone -be safe. 6 Reply Kevin5 months agoKevinA timely question for me today! As grandparents, even though we see our grandchildren regularly, we have a “All Grandkids” sleepover at our house two or three times a year during winter and summer school vacations. We have seven grandchildren, but the youngest, age three, needs to be a bit older before she’ll be okay to spend overnight in a large room from with her six other cousins ranging in age from 10 to 16. But, as tiring as it can be for my wife and I, between shopping and preparing food for their stay from mid afternoon until the following afternoon, it’s always a special time which we savor. Even though they all see one another frequently, they come together here year after year and truly seem to look forward to what has become a family tradition, as they all giggle and horse around until the last one conks out around midnight. It’s a time that my wife and know will one day pass into memory, as they grow onward and upward, and we, eventually, will one day feel too old to pull off ourselves. So, we savor and cherish these memorable moments that are unfolding right now before our eyes. As I write while it’s still dark outside, just knowing that six other human lives are sprawled out and asleep on the other side of the house is itself, a thing of wonder to behold. By midafternoon, the parents will return and scoop up their kids, and Grampa here, after waving goodbye, will head up the stairs and take a long nap! Mission accomplished. I am so glad you did, because it will be passed from generation to generation…how wonderful. Blessings…. 3 Reply Kevin5 months agoKevinThanks for the kindness in your words here, Mary Pat. My wife, Betty Ann, and I have been blessed by being able to live with having our entire family all living within 20 minutes of one another which makes many things possible. It is a blessing that we do not take lightly, as we have many friends whose family members are scattered all over the planet. I am fond of the term, “Bloom where you’re planted,” which I, and we, certainly keep trying to do. Thank you, Mary Pat, for the joy of your presence and friendship in this space. May that of the Spirit hold you and yours in this very new year. Happy New Year! 1 Reply Mary Pat5 months agoMary PatBy taking time to pause to be ‘here’ in the day-or moment- instead of thinking about the future, or worse, about the past! It is one of my goals for this new year. Prayers needed for this one….it is really difficult for me. 6 Reply sunnypatti5 months agosunnypattiI just made a gratitude list of all the wonderful things that happened in 2021. All the things that have led to this last day of the year, where I sit in my home happy and in awe of this beautiful life that I get to live. I’m going to carry this energy to work with me and share the light with everyone as we prepare to step into the new year. 8 Reply Christine5 months agoChristineThis new day is a gift.
