Well, I’ve not been around his reverence for awhile, so I can’t bring him to a daily activity, but, I would suggest reverence is already there; and there’s no need for you to waste energy carrying extra reverence anywhere. Enjoy a pleasant afternoon 🙂 reality 1 Reply Hot Sauce4 months agoHot SauceBefore I begin doing my schoolwork, I always say this prayer: “O God, You have spoken through the Prophet Jesus, saying, ‘Without Me, you can do nothing.’ In faith, I embrace Your words, O God, and bow before Your goodness. Help me to complete the work I am about to begin for Your own glory. Amen.” This prayer helps me to hallow my schoolwork and do it with awareness that I can only complete it and learn from it with God’s help, not effort alone. 5 Reply Pollyanna Gladwell4 months agoPollyanna GladwellA wonderful prayer Hot Sauce. Thank you. It’s a longer form of the Jesuit motto: Ad maiorem Dei gloriam. If only I could remember to say it! Blessings. 2 Reply Dusty Su4 months agoDusty SuThat space or practice can become sacred, broader, wider, deeper, higher, and connected to God/dess, nature, immediate environment, fellow earth dwellers, past, present, and future, and a better sense of self. This is a good reminder for me and a challenge to bring more reverence into my daily life practices, both big and small. 5 Reply Don Jones4 months agoDon JonesIt feels like a flow or alignment. It makes me think that heaven is here and now. 6 Reply Melissa4 months agoMelissaWhen I touch my favorite tree I feel reverence and so at peace. When I look at the Milky Way and star filled sky brings the same feeling. As I realize how small I am in the big picture of life. Which is so freeing as my ego floats away and is replaced by presence free of any burdens at least for that moment. 6 Reply Papilio4 months agoPapilioWhen I bring reverence to a daily activity, I feel my heart is opened, becoming non-judgmental, paying attention, and witnessing whatever is happening. 4 Reply Linda4 months agoLindaEverything slows down. I feel peaceful and quiet inside. I need to make more room for this in my life. 5 Reply Vincent-Edward Ciliberti4 months agoVincent-Edward CilibertiIt feels great to bring reverence to a daily activity. I, for one has spent most of the last few days days commenting on Youtube by people who ought to know better, for clips which claim that the Pope is wrong about civil unions. Though it irks me to having to listen to a mashed up speeches mixing religion with politics, I still listen with a degree of reverence. 3 Reply Michele4 months agoMicheleAs a gay woman, I want to thank you for your support and reaching out to comment on Youtube. I am in love with life. 5 Reply Patricia4 months agoPatriciaSomehow, when I am mindful and aware (and reverent?), I see and feel the presence of God’s Spirit soaking that daily activity…. and then things are transformed from routine into blessing. 8 Reply sunnypatti4 months agosunnypattiI feel present and connected. Bringing reverence to an activity, to me, means paying attention to each moment. Not being distracted, as you really can’t be. Taking it all in and putting all in yourself! It opens not only the heart, but the mind, and lets you feel connected to all that is. 5 Reply Trish4 months agoTrishBringing reverence to any task helps me to see the holy in everything. I slow down & refrain from getting caught up in “what’s next.” Staying in the moment & finding the beauty in what’s happening now~that’s a gift. 5 Reply devy4 months agodevyGoing for my daily nature walks and taking in the reverence that Mother Nature offers to me brings me feelings of awe and wonderment. I see how beautiful nature is, how vast it is with all the plants and animals and makes me feel happy and thankful for all my blessings. It gives me the opportunity to escape from the confines of my home, my city life and my personal problems. 8 Reply 333USA4 months ago333USAIn order to be reverent we have to quiet our mind in the moment. If this is “bringing reverence” then it’s all tied up in the appreciation, presence etc. It’s intertwined. Take any part of it away and it weakens the whole. 5 Reply Kevin4 months agoKevinThose who know me best know that I won’t be anointed to sainthood anytime soon. Still, there are many tiny and momentous moments throughout the day, where holding a sense of reverence is key to being able to witness and experience such moments in the first place. But to be sure, I don’t bring reverence anywhere. It brings me. And it is thrilling, and demanding that I pay attention. 7 Reply Patricia4 months agoPatriciaI really like your phrase “I don’t bring reverence anywhere. It brings me…” And yet… from where does my awareness of that reverence arise? That seems to require my own mindfulness. (Just pondering on this….) 3 Reply Howie Geib4 months agoHowie GeibActs of reverence seem to alter time. Essentially slowing everything down. The object of my attention seems to get into a high level of detail and focus, and everything else seems to fall away. There is a deepening. And these moments are then engraved on my heart and can be recalled at will later, or triggered by something like a smell, a piece of music, a voice. It feels that at these times I am close to home. 5 Reply Kevin4 months agoKevinYes, yes, and beautiful! 3 Reply Michele4 months agoMicheleA daily activity becomes routine. My morning routine of coming on and participating on this website brings me joy and I look forward to it each day. There’s a bit of excitement and natural curiosity as to what the daily question will be and reading everyone’s responses. My mind opens up with objectivity and my heart opens up with love.
