Being in close relationship with another motivates me to be more aware, respectful, appreciative, sensitive, patient, supportive, etc. I grow as a person when I am challenged to be a more caring person. My personal relationships are improved and strengthened. The other kind of caring is being a caregiver. In this kind of relationship, I need to be informed about and supportive of others’ needs. Being a support person for my family, friends, community members or people in need gives me purpose and meaning. I know that I am making a difference in the world. This enriches my own life. I also am more aware of my blessings and grateful for them. Read More5 Reply Ose1 year agoOseIt is something I always loved to do. It is a pleasure, often joy and I feel it is a gift to be allowed to, highly enriching my life, where I try to reply to the needs of others as good as possible. 4 Reply Hot Sauce1 year agoHot SauceIt's a chance to take what I've learned and use it for good and give back to the world from what I've received. Others have helped me thr0ugh the times when I was confused as to what direction I'm even supposed to go in life; through the times when I was so upset, I couldn't get out of bed; and the times when my past came back to haunt me. I care because I was once cared for and learned to care because of that. Read More4 Reply Vivi1 year agoViviCaring for others gives me a sense of purpose. Those who volunteer strongly know this. When I was 16 I decided I was done supporting la machine’s cannabalizing all life and the Earth to replicate itself; dirty $ can’t be cleaned, etc.- to serve life, etc.. I gave up an apt., most of my stuff and a $400. + % per week job as a manager with a $ 300. a month adv. budget, to volunteer for a community center for the lower-middle-class to poor with a women’s homeless shelter, daily soup kitchen, counseling, systems management and referrals, community newspaper, classes, etc., triple full-time, that’s right, 120 hours per week, seven days a week. I couldn’t have done that at all, let alone as well as I did, if it were just me, a 16 year old; it was more than me, every moment of everyday- still feel the blessings I felt then. Some might say, ‘well, your d at 60, so, you s’d up’, ‘you should’ve worked smart not hard’, etc., well I worked smart and hard, would do it again- and the shortness of my life is due to the fact that I, as well as the evolution and real left, are the only real competition la machine has. So, ‘no good deed goes unpunished’, times a million; and you get the picture? It’s elemental, walking in nature’s balance, giving back to her abundance (infants naturally do it), yet, it’s also mystical, spiritual, etc.. Thanks for all you All do; have a good day ? reality Read More3 Reply Present Moment1 year agoPresent MomentPositive energy passed increases. Sixty years later, I belong to a church with an extremely energetic missions/outreach ministry which suites me to a “T”! Thanks to our efforts, there is now a fledgling homeless shelter and a free medical clinic/resource center for homeless/resource-challenged people in our little town. We also provide a free monthly meal to same with plans to expand that to at least weekly over time as we become better known and supported. All thanks to the collective will of God and a small bunch of like-minded folks determined to be of service to others less fortunate than themselves… sb Read More11 Reply sunnypatti1 year agosunnypattiMy light grows brighter.
