Appreciate those who are working essential. Love is just as essential as those who are helping us out during this hard time. ♡ 2 Reply Michele10 months agoMicheleAs a medical laboratory technician who has worked in various fields (forensics, blood banking, toxicology, medical marijuana) I can use my skills to help people and educate them when needed. This past week was National Medical Laboratory Week. (April 19-25th) It is an annual celebration of medical laboratory professionals who play a vital part in health care and patient advocacy. 3 Reply Malag10 months agoMalagThe ability to sit tight, stay sane and keep away from others 3 Reply Jennifer L. It not only restores me but has a residual effect on everyone I come in contact with either virtually or physically. It changes my response to people places and things and restores my soul. I can act from there. I have many talents, I use them as needed or as I feel the inspiration to create. Yesterday I took an on line dance class from a neighbor who is a professional. I did it in support of her and as a much needed exercise for me. Dance is one of my talents so that was a no brainer. I dance for my well being everyday anyway so taking a formal class was refreshing. I have encouraged my neighbor to do this since the beginning of this pandemic. It helped us both and included others. It was a win win. She is unemployed and trying to figure out how to earn an income since her studio closed. I have encouraged her to start a zoom class and to charge. Right now she is offering it free and I hope she sees how this can help her as she gains confidence in navigating and readjusting to the times we live in and can help her coach or teach classes from home. She did a great job yesterday! So, I send daily countless messages supporting those still in the trenches as well as those sheltering due to their own health issues. I so wish I could do more especially given my experience and knowledge, but try to remain focused on the reality of limitation and how I can creatively overcome those boundaries. I am delighted to have found this site. I can navigate and nurture hard conversations mostly with grace. I can grow myself through self-reflection. I can find openings in spaces that are closed. I can help to darn holes in our worn social fabric. I can strive to embody what I aspire to: a compassionate world for all. 4 Reply Samuel10 months agoSamuelSewing face masks to be donated by our church to anyone needing them… sb 9 Reply Katrina10 months agoKatrinaI am a good listener and have had the opportunity to do just that this week. Being retired, taking the time to contact people and just listening to their plites and difficulties. My wife is working from home and is working mega hours. I am pulling up the slack by doing the cooking and housework and being there for her when she feels overwhelmed. 5 Reply Antoinette10 months agoAntoinetteI can help by paying attention . My wife, having had lung surgery some fourteen years ago and who copes with a chronic bronchial condition related to that surgery is at extremely high risk should she contract the coronavirus. So we need to exercise extreme caution, disinfecting everything that comes into the house. We are practicing 6 feet apart with no physical contact with all of our immediate family members who live close by, which is hard. My wife, who enjoys shopping for food, has turned that chore over to me so that when I return from the supermarket, I wipe everything down before bringing groceries into the kitchen. So my direct work and interactions with people beyond my walls is on hold for now. The most I am doing right now is sharing my photography via the Internet in places where it seems useful and is appreciated. And this is OK, really, when I consider all those dear souls who have lost their lives already and the many Frontline workers who put their lives on the line to protect the rest of us.
