Maeve3 months agoMaeveBy getting off my computer, my Zoom calls, my stressful assignments, and biking out to a “north shore” beach near Boston. By planting in my garden before the frost. By working on reducing the clutter in my house. And in myself. 0 Reply Malag3 months agoMalagThere’s beauty all around us. I could just notice, be present more. But not grasping the present. There’s a true appreciation of allowing it to be and to let go, a flow 2 Reply Dusty Su3 months agoDusty SuBy being beautiful, and I am not talking about looks. “You cannot have a beautiful world without a beautiful heart,” a banner at a Brazil Eco conference decades ago stuck with me over the years and always reminds me where true beauty starts. 2 Reply Melissa3 months agoMelissaGoing outside is the best. Connecting with nature and reading a great book, learning and listening from friends, drawing and looking at all kinds of art. Listening to music from all over the world and birds singing. Slowing down to notice the world. 6 Reply Maeve3 months agoMaeveYes, to going outside, noticing and slowing down 0 Reply Linda3 months agoLindaI usually dread fall coming because after it comes winter, my least favorite season. But today I notice the beautiful changing colors in my neighborhood and out my windows. No need to worry about winter today. 4 Reply Hot Sauce3 months agoHot SauceI can make more space in my life for beauty by reading texts about religious and spiritual philosophy (including world scriptures) and maintaining an awareness about what they reveal about the beauty of nature and of sentient beings. For example, reading the Upanishads reminds me that everything in existence is part of Brahman and makes the world feel more beautiful and colorful. 4 Reply Don Jones3 months agoDon JonesBy being a part of my environment as I go about my day, not apart from it. 5 Reply Elaine3 months agoElaineIt’s everywhere, in every thing If I — Pause Notice Mark 4 Reply Journey3 months agoJourneyBy choosing to see the beauty in a person or situation rather than the side that is not so nice. I am that person, that will focus on a single black spot on a white sheet of paper, instead of focusing on the rest of the paper which is free of spots. I can make more space for beauty by shifting focus to the larger picture instead of a tiny small thing that may not be nice. 4 Reply Lauryn3 months agoLauryn-Slow down -Explore new ideas -Get outside -Make my surroundings pleasing to the eye -Capture images -get rid of those things that no longer have purpose in my life. 5 Reply Zenith3 months agoZenithThis is a perplexing question. I believe I have expanded as much as is possible in my current circumstances. My gratefulness journey helps guide me. I hope somedayy that peace and joy will decide to make their permanent abode with me. 6 Reply Javier Visionquest3 months agoJavier VisionquestSkill and persistence, Zenith! 2 Reply Mica3 months agoMicaI can fill the water containers on my balcony before it gets so hot that I need to close the blinds over the balcony doors – my plants will have more water and give me more beauty 4 Reply Shellan3 months agoShellan_get outside every single day _practice gratitude _make activities and spaces beautiful (setting the table, flowers…) _dress for joy _spend more time on doing hair/nails… _plan fun activities with friends and loved ones _go on hikes and runs 7 Reply sparrow3 months agosparrowSometimes I think my mission in life is to create beauty . . . I make plenty of messes in the process, but in the end beauty wins. Even on a tight budget, every physical object i bring to my home, is either beautiful or made beautiful . . . I work to make my garden beds pleasing to the eye, and to the eyes of birds, bees, and butterflies . . . no place is untouched in some way. All of this constantly reminds me that there is beauty inside me as well, usually when i need it the most. 7 Reply Jim3 months agoJimThe act of creating an environment of peace and beauty both physical and emotional has been and is a part of my daily purpose for many years. It is part of a conscious decision to stop, look, reflect and act with those around me and my environment. It is begins with early morning walks and ends with a star gazing when the sky is clear. 7 Reply Javier Visionquest3 months agoJavier VisionquestClearing the clutter! To take away all of the things unloved, out grown, overgrown, disowned, and to let go of these things I’ve made that no longer serve my highest purpose (goodbye, bee”keeping”!). To realign myself, my habitat, my habit and my beliefs with the seasons and renewed purpose. 9 Reply Javier Visionquest3 months agoJavier VisionquestI really have to establish my own space! 4 Reply Mica3 months agoMicaAh, yes – the eternal challenge. It’s Nature’s way – the entropy [disorder] naturally increases. Good luck, and don’t be too hard on yourself if you fall short of your goal! 3 Reply Michele3 months agoMicheleI’m grateful that I see beauty everyday in my neighborhood. I get to see the gorgeous beauty of peacocks – their brilliant blue colors on their necks and feathers. I see the oak trees with Spanish moss, Mexican petunias, hibiscus, fire bushes. My two cats. I love nature and always look and admire its beauty. I went and had a massage last night – 1st time in 9 mths. I was grateful for the beauty of the therapists hands, the spa like ambiance for tranquility. 7 Reply Melissa3 months agoMelissaI have plenty of room for beauty in my life and all I have to do is acknowledge my surroundings. God’s creation surrounds me. The blue sky. The green grass. The flowers. The sweet smile, etc. 6 Reply Carla3 months agoCarlaDuring my morning walks, I foster walking with intention, keeping my eyes wide open. for nature’s beauty. I saw a lot more opening crocus this spring and now I look upward watching the fiery sugar maple leaves dance. 7 Reply Trish3 months agoTrishMore beauty enters my life when I say goodbye to “junk.” It makes room for me to pay attention to all the glorious people, animals & nature that God has brought to my life. Meditation also opens me to receive an abundance of beauty & allows me to see shimmers that often go unnoticed. 4 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
