I have great respect for anyone who lives with intentionality. 3 Reply RJergens4 weeks agoRJergensI will continue to the excellent work of others. I will strive to improve on that work, if need be. I will be progressive in my thinking and move things forward for the good of all concerned. I will remain open and curious. 3 Reply shaketa4 weeks agoshaketaI honor others by listening, with love an compassion. 4 Reply Hermann-Josef4 weeks agoHermann-Josefthe more I know , experience and stick thankfully to my own way the more I have the capacity to understand the way of others. the more I understand that it is a grace to be on the way the more it makes me happy to see others being on their way. I can honor only what I know, understand and appreciate. 4 Reply Carol4 weeks agoCarolToltec wisdom comes to mind: Be impeccable with your word; do not take things personally; don’t assume anything and always do your best. When I I make this my path, I find myself more tolerant of the other’s path. It demands that I own my thoughts, my feelings and my actions. I also have found that it’s okay to agree to disagree! Many dear friends and I have done that often. 7 Reply pkr4 weeks agopkrI can honor the path of others by remembering we are all on our own journeys. It is not my place to judge. I can accept, offer support when asked & be there. Respect & accept. It is their journey, not mine. I have enuf on my own plate with all my own “ stuff”!!!! Blessings to All.🙏🏻❤️ 5 Reply Mica4 weeks agoMicaThat depends on the other and their paths, which are often quite different. 2 Reply orozcoj134 weeks agoorozcoj13When asked how I can honor the paths of others, I must remember the power of narratives. The storytelling of our own experiences. This profound way of reliving our lives in just a way that others are deeply engaged in listening, and we are deeply involved in self-expression. Thank you. 1 Reply GR8FULL4 weeks agoGR8FULLThe first thing that comes to mind is by not trying to change or influence their paths. When my observing self shows up, I am able to humbly witness, accept, respect and support their path, despite how different the other parts of me would’ve designed it for them. That said, my observing self can be very lazy and tired and not show his face as much as I’d like it to but….I must also honor my own path. Have a great day everyone. 3 Reply Barb C4 weeks agoBarb CBy listening to understand even when I don’t agree. 2 Reply Yram4 weeks agoYramEach person and their path is a gift to me. I honor it by listening and holding it in love and respect. We are more alike than we are different. 4 Reply Rae2Three4 weeks agoRae2ThreeThank you for this question. I can honor the paths of others by observing and learning from them. I can also honor the paths of others by providing support where needed. Lastly, this brings me to the thought of honoring the paths of others that have transitioned into the spiritual realm. I can honor them by doing activities they once loved, making meals they once liked, or starting a foundation in their name. 3 Reply Rabbit4 weeks agoRabbitI try to think that they are much more than what we see and might be inclined to judge. They have had different experiences and come to different conclusions. 5 Reply Laura4 weeks agoLauraI learn a great deal from watching how others live their lives, especially how they handle difficulties. I can honor those paths by adopting and carrying forward the positive aspects of someone else’s choices. 3 Reply Holly in Ohio4 weeks agoHolly in OhioThis is an interesting question and I needed to sit with it a bit before an answer came to me. This week, with the heat wave affecting 70% of our country's population, with fires in Texas, Greece, and France, climate change has been very much on my mind. But not everyone believes it is happening, or believes we should do anything about it. So to answer the question, Patience and Respect are what come to mind. But not everyone believes it is happening, or believes we should do anything about it. So to answer the question, Patience and Respect are what come to mind. It is sometimes difficult, when mocked, to be patient and respectful, to be gentle in response, to listen with openess to new ideas and concerns. Somehow we must try to bridge the divides between us, and I do not know how we can do this if we don’t honor the paths of others. A fellow mentor taught a class in which he divided his students into 2 teams to research and debate mitigation vs adaptation to climate change. A sea level map of my community shows my condo building still on dry land but the one on the other side of the complex, a block away and closer to the SF bay, is surrounded by water. 😐 4 Reply Holly in Ohio4 weeks agoHolly in OhioThank you. It is nice to know this is being discussed in a constructive way. 🙂 2 Reply Mica4 weeks agoMicaYes – I’m delighted by the concept. The fellow mentor said that those in the middle of the US are particularly unconcerned about climate change, because it’s just giving some nuisance heat. And more than half of us are for adaptation instead of mitigation, according to his students’ investigations. 2 Reply Barb C4 weeks agoBarb CI have the same challenge with this question when I think about those who seem to be accelerating us all on a path to destruction. Thank you for these watchwords. 2 Reply Holly in Ohio4 weeks agoHolly in OhioThey are in a different place. Meanwhile, we will do all we can, and look for common ground. Thank you, Barb. 2 Reply Rabbit4 weeks agoRabbitBut oh so hard to do. I was at the hospital yesterday and a man had a hat on with, what seemed to me like an inappropriate message on it, and no mask on in spite of the hospital's mask policy. I do so want to be patient about something like this and realize I am only upsetting myself if I let it bother me, but it is hard. This is a big reason why I am one this site. It is especially hard when we aren’t treated the same way… which may be the point… The Golden Rule… I know I would like to be treated with patience and respect if someone disagees with me… to receive tolerance instead of ridicule or anger. You give me strength, Rabbit, thank you! 🙂 3 Reply Rabbit4 weeks agoRabbitYou just made my day Holly. Stay cool down there in Ohio. Very hot in Michigan too but not like some other places. Maybe that is a metaphorical answer to the original question. Stay cool, sounds like West Side Story. 2 Reply Holly in Ohio4 weeks agoHolly in OhioEverything in life is more tolerable if set to the right music score! West Side Story… good one! Thank you. ❤ 1 Reply EJP4 weeks agoEJPI can honor the paths of others by just being silent…..just observing and not judging. 8 Reply Rabbit4 weeks agoRabbitI had a friend who could see someone on a different path and just think and say, “Well, isn’t that interesting.” 5 Reply Barb C4 weeks agoBarb CThis reminds me of my younger daughter’s time in musical theater. I don’t know if they were formally taught this or not, but if someone did something with a part they didn’t much like, they’d say, “Well, that was an interesting choice.” 3 Reply Don Jones4 weeks agoDon JonesTrying to understand the needs of others and balance that with my needs – there is nearly always common ground. Needs (as distinct from wants) are always positive, so positively seeking that joint understanding is honorable to all involved. 3 Reply Kevin4 weeks agoKevinIt seems that we are all on our own paths and life journeys.
