It should arrive to her home in the next week or so. She loves her Chinese Crested dog Hendrix…so the night shirt has a picture of a Chinese Crested , and beneath it his name inside a bone. This is a great question..I will think of a way to joyfully surprise someone today …and keep this idea in mind. 0 Reply stefanie.denver1 year agostefanie.denverThere are so many virtual meetings going on–I would like to do one and call it, “Grateful for friends”, since they are spread throughout the globe:). I would hold one to thank them for being wonderful people, who take care of others, being selfless and so positive these days. 0 Reply Mark Featherstone1 year agoMark FeatherstoneI can smile 0 Reply Dusty Su1 year agoDusty SuGo for a socially distanced walk with a stranger through a MeetUp walking group. Listen and show interest. Then to mom’s to cook for her and share a nice meal together. 6 Reply Don Jones1 year agoDon JonesBy taking my Kelpie dog for a spontaneous second walk today and a run in the off leash area when I get home from work. 5 Reply Melissa1 year agoMelissaHow fun. I am going to pick some roses from my garden that the deer haven’t eaten and surprise one of my friends. She is isolated, with bored teenagers who are trying to stay positive. Put it on her door step with a card to tell them they are not alone and are loved. Some chocolate too. Well chocolate cannot help but make you smile. 9 Reply Trish1 year agoTrishWhat a wonderful gift! 0 Reply Linda1 year agoLindaCall a very isolated friend. So simple, but it slips my mind too often. Thanks for the question today. 7 Reply Arleen1 year agoArleenI can perform a random act of kindness. It doesn’t have a big thing, maybe a phone call to an elderly person, an email to someone who is going through a rough time, or prepare something special for my husband for dinner. Price isn’t an issue because the things I have cited don’t cost anything but my time. 4 Reply Present Moment1 year agoPresent MomentMy intention is all I’ve got, as I’m not in charge of whether joy and surprise are the result of my action. One saving grace during this lockdown time is the phone plan I signed up for which allows me free calls to all of Canada, the U S., and here in Mexico. Today I’ll try to reach old friends, especially those facing fires in the West and hurricanes on the gulf coast. Bless you all. 6 Reply Michele1 year agoMicheleSurprise someone with a banana split or a yummy whiskey sour or going to a Nat’l park… August 25, 2020 – NATIONAL KISS AND MAKE UP DAY – NATIONAL BANANA SPLIT DAY – NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOUNDERS DAY – NATIONAL SECONDHAND WARDROBE DAY – NATIONAL WHISKEY SOUR DAY 2 Reply Patricia1 year agoPatriciaI agree with the reflections of others who mentioned that this is a good question … and I’ll be on the lookout for the way I can joyfully surprise someone else today, too. And, in the discovery, I hope I am joyfully surprised as well! 6 Reply Howie Geib1 year agoHowie GeibThis landed like a challenge! And I am in! So I have several outreach calls today looking to line up some possibilities for part time work and this morning’s questions can help me project into these calls a real sense of opportunity! 4 Reply Zenith1 year agoZenithThis is a hard one. Every single day I try to thank someone. Sometimes it makes their day. One of the ways I do it is by sending a card in the mail. Maybe just a smile. 7 Reply Sabi1 year agoSabiDear Zenith, my english skills are not the very best but I try anyway because I'd like to thank you so much for mentioning Wim Hof in some of your postings!!!! It made me curious and I did some research. I work with this method for about two weeks and its live changing. Breathing, a few exercises, a short meditation an a cold shower. It's an everyday challenge for me to persevere but it's worth it. Thanks to you I feel so much better - more energy, better mood. That’s a joyful surprise for sure! 6 Reply devy1 year agodevyWith people abiding by covid rules many are isolated and feel depressed not being able to socialize as much. Perhaps I can call one of my friend who lives alone and catchup with them. 9 Reply Arleen1 year agoArleenThat is an excellent idea. Many people are feeling the effects of COVID rules. The people most affected are the homebound and people who live alone. COVID is hurting more people in other ways than feeling sick. Anything you can do to help will be appreciated I’m sure. 1 Reply Kevin1 year agoKevinLet’s see, I could pass out one hundred-dollar bills to my friends today, and that would surely be a joyful surprise for them. But that’s not going to happen, first because I don’t have that kind of money, and secondly, if I did, my friends would think that I have lost my mind and would be picking me up for an evaluation! Better yet, I could, and should, pick up the phone and call someone I haven’t seen in many months and find out how they’re doing. I have an appointment outside the home. We’ll have a yard filled with men working on our deck. I have several tasks on my business work list. I think the best I can do here is keep my mind actively scanning the possibilities and then take action when I notice a scenerio where I can provide a joyful surprise. Kind of gives new purpose to an otherwise doldrum day ✨ 4 Reply Michele1 year agoMichelesweet tea to the men working on your deck perhaps. Hi from Florida too! 1 Reply Cathy1 year agoCathy???? 1 Reply Pilgrim1 year agoPilgrimI have often offered bottles of water to people working outdoors. They seem very appreciative, and it gives them a moment to take a break, too. Just an idea. 6 Reply Cathy1 year agoCathyYes! Great thought, Pilgrim. I’ll put some water bottles in a chest with ice and set it in the area. We’re in SE Florida and it is HOT these days. Thank you, my friend. 3 Reply Maya1 year agoMayaOr beer 🙂 (perhaps best when they’re done….) 4 Reply Cathy1 year agoCathy? ? ?
