WyattTaking daily inventory and becoming aware of the many blessings in my life changes my attitude from one of lack to one of abundance. I am not talking about materialistic. items, but the quiet knowledge that I have enough and that I am blessed by God and the universe. This foundation gives me the needed self-esteem to venture out and move my life in different directions. 0 Reply Tahsin Tabassum9 months agoTahsin Tabassumgot nothing to lose 0 Reply Debra9 months agoDebraGratefulness is an expression of my love for others, myself, sentient beings, nature and much, much more. It provides me, when fully open, for the banishment of fear and the budding courage that ensues. Let it go and see the transformation. 1 Reply Malag9 months agoMalagIn moments of fear there is usually a something to appreciate and in consequence feel grateful for. That helps to stay the course or change direction as needed. It’s the comfort in the midst of discomfort and it’s the bringing of presence to feelings that are not so overwhelming when allowed to be. 2 Reply Mica9 months agoMicaAre gratitude and fear mutually exclusive? To some extent they certainly are. Thank you for the question – gratefulness and courage! 2 Reply Judi9 months agoJudiTrusting and knowing I can always find something good is all I need for courage. 4 Reply Alicia Michelle9 months agoAlicia MichelleBy taking a step back and reflecting on everything to be grateful for, it gives me the opportunity to realize much of my problems are so small, especially when compared to the many positives in my life. This gives me the strength and courage to face any problem, big or small. 1 Reply TeriB9 months agoTeriBBy being grateful for who I am and the experience that I have had helps me realize all that I am capable of. 1 Reply Linda9 months agoLindaI am grateful for all the many blessings in my life. While this is a challenging time, I deal with it better because of the love of family and friends. I don’t feel so scared as I would if I were alone. 1 Reply Gerry9 months agoGerryReflection upon that which we have with gratitude, points the mind and spirit toward the things that are possible for us; allows us to realize that our actions, no matter how small, when motivated by benefit for all, are acts of courage. 1 Reply Michele9 months agoMicheleGratefulness helps me live with courage by constantly battling depression and it forces me to be grateful for what I have and focus on positivity. Saying things like ‘this to shall pass”, “the best is yet to come”, “something wonderful will happen today” seems to help too. 7 Reply Rachel9 months agoRachelGratefulness can be like a lighthouse beacon guiding me through tumultuous waters. Without it I may bob away on the waves or perhaps even be swamped. 3 Reply Mark Piper9 months agoMark PiperI think gratefulness and courage have the same tone and timbre. If I’m practicing/living gratefully, I show it an act in a certain way; a way that is constant, obvious, but not limited to gratuitous or a spurt of over the top praise. So too, courage. Being grateful teaches a constancy of praise, not a fortissimo shout of THANK YOU now and again. As Jackie said, gratefulness “gives me a solid foundation.” 9 Reply Eddie9 months agoEddieThe way I like to think about this is when we live with gratefulness we know ourselves more. We know how to live in the moment and be grateful for what each day brings. This allows one to have a perspective of being confident in who you are on this earth. Then, you are free to share, help, care, speak, walk with purpose and love. I think this allows you to live with courage. 5 Reply Jackie9 months agoJackieGratefulness re-orients me and gives me a solid foundation so that I can stand my ground and not run away in the face of fear. 3 Reply Antoinette9 months agoAntoinetteGratefulness can help me live with courage because I am always seeing how everything fits together. When I pay close attention to the present moment there is always something fortunate happening. I ask my self how may I serve with gratitude today? How may I offer love today? My heart feels open and overflowing with joyous effort. 2 Reply devy9 months agodevyGratefulness by forgiving the past, accepting what is. As you forgive the past and accept what is true for today, you develop courage and the future opens up with unimaginable possibility. 4 Reply Kevin9 months agoKevinThis is a good question for me today on May 5, as it is also my 70th birthday. The last ten years for me have brought joy, challenge, some sorrow, laughter, great change and good measures of gratitude for all that I have in my life. While there are a few things that I would rather not carry into my 70’s, I am content and feel blessed with my life as it is.
