When I acknowledge how much of my life is reliant on others, I feel more awe, openness, relaxation and trust which helps me be open to love and goodness in the world. 0 Reply Shelby Mitchell1 year agoShelby MitchellGratitude helps me see the light in the darkest of places. Life is so beautiful. As we all know, during an upsetting situation it is very hard to show gratitude and see the many amazing things life has to offer. For example, if I hadn’t had a really deep, somewhat traumatic spiritual crisis from 2010-2012, I would not be in seminary right now, nor would I have the deep sense of spirituality that pays attention to wisdom from all cultures and faith traditions that I have now. I can never judge a moment as “bad” when I don’t know what the outcome will be. 1 Reply Linda1 year agoLindaReflecting on everyone’s beautiful comments, I want to add that this site makes me see anew all the good in other people. 2 Reply Tara Bryant1 year agoTara BryantGratitude helps me to see the good in people. It helps me first ask the question, “What am I thankful for about a person or situation?” Especially in a situation that is easy to be upset about, asking myself what I can be grateful for in that situation helps me approach the situation or person with more grace and spaciousness which encourages me to continue loving even when the easier option would be to respond in an unloving way. 4 Reply Samuel1 year agoSamuela sense of Gratitude helps me to maintain a more positive attitude about the worldly things I see going on all around me. Without Gratitude it would be so easy to just slide into a fatalistic attitude of victimization and complaint and despair. .Gratitude is the balm that soothes the Empath within me that cannot stand what I perceive to be injustices and inequities perpetrated by a few people upon so many others that cannot protect themselves… sb 4 Reply Rena Barker1 year agoRena BarkerThe attitude of gratitude gives me freedom. Acknowledge that I have choices, choices that I can respond to, the way I want to behave. As I do, I’ll be more aware, pay attention, be able to see details with care. 🙂 5 Reply Linda1 year agoLindaAll good reminders for me to just pay attention to all the beauty and joy around me. 4 Reply Tom1 year agoTomGratitude helps me see the good in the world by reminding myself that I do have internal resources to move myself forward.
