Sadly only Brits and a very few others know what conkers are or what the game entails, or I might have been world famous! 2 Reply Tiffany1 year agoTiffanyMy family has a worm composting bin as of the beginning of this month. Like a half pound of worms…500 maybe? It has been exciting trying to help the planet and eventually our garden! 4 Reply Carrie Lee1 year agoCarrie LeeEarlier this year I took a long and scary step out of my comfort zone and entered my drawings in a local art exhibition. Due to Covid, of course, it was an online event but still daunting nonetheless.. 8 Reply sunnypatti1 year agosunnypattiI make a darned good tomato pie! So good that I can’t go to a family event without bringing one (or two), regardless of what time of year it is. My husband wants us to sell them when we get our business going… that’s how good he thinks they are, and he’s a properly trained chef! 4 Reply Dusty Su1 year agoDusty SuI am about to make my 51st complete house move. So the wheels haven’t fallen of the trolley (yet)! 7 Reply Liz1 year agoLizDoesn’t everybody talk to their pet??? I have conversations all day long with my cat. He doesn’t reply much but he often sits and listens intently. Sometimes he offers a comment, but sadly I don’t always understand. Perhaps your dog is considering her proper answer! 1 Reply sunnypatti1 year agosunnypattiI love talking to my dog and cat! When my son was in 8th or 9th grade we were fishing in a small boat out on a Canadian lake as a family. My hubby had just bought me a new closed face reel…which to fisherman is an embarrassment… none the less I learned on a close faced reel and it is my comfort zone. So my hubby put it on my rod and away we go. On one of my casts, the reel went flying off into the lake; it was very clear lake and I could see it shining down about 12 feet or so. I began to strip to my undies when my hubby said – WHAT ARE YOU DOING – I said – getting my new reel. He said no way (as there were other boats around – not close but around) So I decided my son could swim down to get it – to which I got an incredulous look. But he did strip to his skivvies and dove in. He came up to the side of the boat and said its too deep I can’t get it. To which the story goes, I placed my foot on his head, said…”you run cross country – you have enough breath go get my new reel”… and then proceeded to push him back into the water. Well he dives down and then comes up like the lady of the lake holding Excalibur with the reel in his hand, breaking the surface 1st. He gained a lot of confidence that day – I got my reel back, and my hubby just shook his head…and then confessed it was a 2nd-hand refurbished reel – After a moment, we all broke out laughing as my son climbed back into the boat. The story has been told to all family members who also find it funny, and very Cathie-like. I hope you find it a bit amusing too – Read More5 Reply dcdeb1 year agodcdebBeen told i have a good sense of humor. 4 Reply BasicMarsh1 year agoBasicMarshI have literally “bumped” into and actually spoken to several famous people here and there — airports, city streets, etc. The number one incident was Ringo Starr in London in 1972, Bart Starr (Green Bay quarterback in the 60s) in Salt Lake City in the 90s, Julian Bond in D.C., Ed Bradley (60 Minutes reporter) at Atlanta airport, Rich Little (comedian/impersonator) in Hollywood, Sarah Jaroz (singer) at an airport, and John Sebastian (Lovin’ Spoonful) at Disneyland. 7 Reply Antoinette1 year agoAntoinetteI use to have a horse and I rode barrel racing in rodeos! 9 Reply Mica1 year agoMicaI haven’t brushed or even finger-combed my hair since day before yesterday. … Time to take out the pony tail and start! 5 Reply dcdeb1 year agodcdebI like this 3 Reply Mica1 year agoMicaOh! I was dating an actor at the time who refused to go to the audition because he didn’t want me telling him what to do. He had been in NY for several months and did not have an agent and was not going on auditions. When someone told me about the “look see” I thought it would be perfect for him to get started. He was surprised when I told him I went and how easy it was. He decided to go and not only did he get the part but it enabled him to get into 2 unions. He went on to get another movie and was paid scale. I secretly wanted to be an actor too but did not pursue it and had very little experience and was very insecure. He had an 8 by 10 glossy photo with a resume on the back with his summer stock experience and community theater credits. I had an index card with a 2″ square Woolworth photo stapled to it with high school theater experience printed out in pen. The movie was Radio Days with director Woody Allen sitting in the dark in the back of the room.. He was my boyfriends favorite NY director at the time. For me it was a no brainer. I could not let him pass up the opportunity so I made it easy for him on a dare. If I could go with no experience he had no excuse. He was mad but it got him out of bed and to the audition just in time. It was in the basement of St. Pauls Church just blocks from where my boyfriend lived in the Theater District. The next movie he was in was Coming to America. We broke up shortly after that upon entering a cult church that a theater friend introduced him to (another story). He now lives in Atlanta with his wife and daughter and does regional theater. He lived happily ever after. It was a regular occurrence at that particular location in Afghanistan. That one just came particularly close. 2 Reply Mike S1 year agoMike SFor a good number of years I’ve had in mind to write a mystery thriller and I even had the bear outlines of a plot.
