Taking care of my mother, because it is a little hard for me to accept her Alzheimer’s disease and the fact that my mother is now like a child. Memories of my childhood and youth add more difficulties, so this is a great challenge to my patience. I know what I need to do, with my rational mind, but the daily rhythm of life is stronger than this part of my mind.

What comes to mind is getting out of bed on a frigid morning lol! It has been extremely cold but warming up this week.

I think it might be rest. There is always so much to be done, lists to be completed and hurry. Time to take rest seriously.

The things I do in the kitchen first come to mind: cooking, washing up, the making of coffee in the morning. That being said, I also agree with a previous respondent that all daily activities should be approached with mindfulness, reverence and respect for this precious life and all the opportunities given to us in each moment.

I would have to say most of my daily activities need to be approached with more reverence & respect. I realize that so often through out my day I am on automatic pilot. It just seems to happen. So I need to be more present, more conscious in all my activities.
Today I intend to be more present.
Thank you for the question, lots to think about.

Any and all of them, really. “Reverence” isn’t the word I would choose; for me this asks mindfulness and attention. I first thought of this at first as taking time I don’t have, then, realized it can be as simple as a full, conscious inhale/exhale before whatever it is. I keep a rock on my desk. It’s shaped so that it sits on a flat bottom and has three planes showing from different angles. On them I inked the words BREATHE. INHALE. EXHALE. so no matter which way the rock is facing it gives me good advice.

To start the morning off I’m going to go approach eggs and toast with more attention than I usually give my breakfast.

My first thought is that in order to be reverent I have to be present. I try not to go in to auto pilot but I do not always succeed.

My morning routine is kind of sacred and
I try to be conscious and grateful for the
simple things and not take anything for
granted. I know this could all go away in
    a flash.

Every activity that I do could use more awareness (reverence) which then transforms it into a thing of beauty!

My first thought as well, Yram.

My morning prayers and reflection routine. I find I rush through my prayers, my reflection and this website. That carries through the rest of the day. I just rush through things to mark them off my list instead of paying greater attention to the process and enjoying the process.

Eating more slowly & mindfully is my resolve today.

Being aware of all the good in my life…simple things as having my tea in the morning. Being grateful and thankful that I wake up to another day…I can put two feet on the ground and move…my body still works…Thanks be to God.

I find it challenging to name just one daily activity as my experiences has taught me any activity can be transformed through presence and purpose. Is that reverence? Maybe. Now to remember to be in that space, right? I know this question will be on my mind today, so I will do some noticing and some intentional experimentation. Stay tuned.

Waking up this morning is already a gift ! I would like to remember that this is a true gift by smiling when I wake up and saying thank you !

The glass of water I drink first thing in the morning followed by the coffee to wake me up. The water to nourish my body. The coffee to warm me and wake me up. Both delicious in the own way.
