I like to make tea and make it in a particular way and I think there is a reverence in it. 2 Reply Mica1 year agoMicareverent 3 Reply Malag1 year agoMalagThat has to win as the single word answer of the month! 3 Reply Mica1 year agoMicaOh thank you, Malag – 0 Reply Drew Blanton1 year agoDrew BlantonIt feels great! 4 Reply Hot Sauce1 year agoHot SauceWhen I bring reverence to running, I see how incredible it is that my limbic system is releasing endorphins that give me that “runner’s high.” Since the limbic system is the gateway to mystical experience, perhaps I can remember that I am closer to the Divine within myself when I am running. 4 Reply Don Jones1 year agoDon JonesWhen the door to deep respect opens, it is like opening the door to the Divine. There comes a realization that this happening unfolding before me is beyond my ability to comprehend or understand. Yet, at the same time there is a deep knowing. I call it Grace. 5 Reply Mike S1 year agoMike SWell said Don. 2 Reply Anna1 year agoAnnaWonderful, Don Jones. 3 Reply Ose1 year agoOseWhen doing something, like listening to others which is some of my daily activity to a large extent, full and undivided attention is usually there towards the one I am listening to. It feels humbling to be there in this way, as well to be allowed to listening deeply to others is creating a kind atmosphere where there is space for unfolding what needs to unfold, and often gratefulness is there on both sides for the opportunity, and some silent joy sometimes even if may be difficult things might be expressed. To me it feels that this way often includes many other activities also, no matter if I just do the dishes or cleaning the floor or wrapping a gift with love and reverence. Although sometimes doing might decline to just routine when my heart and mind is occupied with something else, very often mindfulness is there, which I feel includes reverence also, but not explicitly. Still, when pondering about it, may be giving attention to reverence while doing daily activities could deepen the connection with the source? I will try it out. It is not easy to bring reverence during the routine. Especially the domestic routine … it is so strange that our source shows His magnificence both where the amazement grows and where the routine manifests itself. 4 Reply SK1 year agoSKAbsolute peace of heart; a feeling of being washed by the energy of a waterfall; feeling so incredibly open and one with the universe that I cannot contain all the goodness that I feel. I have come to know that reverence in brief moments as described by Brother Lawrence. 3 Reply Linda1 year agoLindaI haven’t done that for a long time. It is certainly the case that even the swords and knives have an unexpected calm about them, which is suggestive of all the time and care that has gone into them. They are a sort of philosophical gift for humankind, Kuma suggests. Peace goes into them and peace ripples outward from them. I’m a “human” who is “being” not just “doing,” living not just existing. Today’s quote encourages the cultivation of such presence and self-awareness. 5 Reply Katrina1 year agoKatrinaI’m glad for the opportunity to be reminded of this. I often get caught up in the tasks and errands of life, considering them duties and things to be checked off the to-do list. Considering the reverence and sacredness of each act, each sound, each sight, each interaction, helps to keep me present, consider it’s necessity in my life and looking for the wonder, gift or learning it might bring me. 6 Reply Christine1 year agoChristineMaybe, then my activity is blessed. Like the sound of a robin outside my window as my cat has her breakfast. All seems right with the world. And being here sharing with a like minded community just fills up my soul. In essence daily reverence brings awareness that all is as it should be and peace is in the NOW of it all. Forgetting that is the challenge by getting caught up in the cobwebs of my mind. Or simply put by an AA phrase, “Stinkin thinkin”. My cat knocking things over helps! There’s a release from any sense oh smallness an ego contraction as our heart and mind expand into a bigger perhaps infinite space. 7 Reply DeVonna1 year agoDeVonnaReverence elevates even the most mundane activity. When we see anything as an act of worship, for instance, it makes that small piece of our day special and more meaningful. 6 Reply GratefulOne1 year agoGratefulOneI bring reverence when I pray or when I visit this site. It feels good to be reverent. Being reverent seems to complement gratefulness. 6 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
