Had to alter my reply. The wisdom of my highest self would be no thing exists. Nothing to worry about, there isn´t even worrying. All coming into being erronously by notions, thoughts, emotions, feelings, sensations, assumptions and wrong ideas which are based on wrong seeing, as if what is perceived is true, permanent, wrong thinking. Related to my current challenge, nothing is left then of it, as there is not even a conflict or not a conflict. So why invest and cling to it? In the same moment, both, Live and Love.

    My former post was
Echoing Kevin´s reply of yesterday, Yes, Live, Love. Thank you dearly, friends, for your precious contributions all the way. Having mainly been taught to work, living was undernourished; trained to do and to do well, being was undernourished up to not possible and deeply painfully almost absent, resulting in fear of being, of loving, of being free to dive into the gifts given to enjoy singing, playing music, painting, drawing, playing and enjoying being free and creative together with others, which is one way of expressing Love. Open up to Live and Love is the reply to a current challenge. To enjoy is to Love, to play is to Love, to sing, to meditate is to Love, to live compassionate, kind and with an open heart towards all which is. Not to say “work in progress” this time! Just dare to open. Live Love. Thank you dearly from deep down.

This week my challenge was work related. I am training a new team member, working on annual goals plus dealing with on going issues beyond our control. I was exhausted by the end of the yesterday so my higher self told me to sleep in this morning and stay home and rest my mind.

I often recall these words from an anonymous author.
“When you come to the edge of the light you know and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown. Faith is knowing one of two things will happen,
There will be something or someone to stand by or you will be taught how to fly.

I’m new to sharing my reflections, but I’m not new to this website or community. I’ve been reading for the past month and I’ve been inspired by everyone’s thoughtful responses. I always relate the reflections to the Word of the Day.

The current challenge that I’m dealing with is which direction to go in my life. I always tied my identity to my career and to my writing. I’ve been a writer ever since I was a little girl. The writing industry is struggling right now, and I’m not sure where to go.

What I do know is that our greatest pain or suffering can be a lamp to others. That reminds of me of the Word of the Day which says, “Be a lamp or a lifeboat or a ladder. Help someone’s soul heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd. – Rumi.”

I’m currently figuring out how to use my biggest challenge to be of service to others.

Thank you for being here and sharing your challenges, Chanel. I believe that even though you’re struggling in your writing career, someone like you always has the ability to bring light into the darkness. My mother-in-law, an amateur writer, loves to write. Previously, she typically wrote about interesting aspects of her life. Since she encountered hardships while dealing with cancer, she started to write about her journey. She has received much support from followers of her posts. People find positivity in her writing. My mother-in-law motivates her readers to be grateful for their healthy lives and serves as a great mentor for those dealing with cancer like her.
I believe that whatever ability or talent you have will definitely be useful for yourself and others, no matter what form it takes.

After responding to the question I did some more morning reading and ran across this piece on integrity and the Buddhist concept of near enemies that keep us from being the selves we mean to be. Seems worth sharing.

This question reminds me how fortunate I am. Currently, I don’t have to worry about a place to live, transportation to school or work, or delicious daily meals. My current challenge lies in establishing my future in this country, my new home. Computer science, the major I have chosen to study, is the field I am most passionate about. However, I find it challenging due to my ability to understand math and science concepts. I keep telling myself not to give up, reminding myself that I am not “dumb”, learning takes time, especially for someone whose first language is not English and has limited vision. I won’t give up, but achieving my degree and career goals in this field requires more than just putting in effort. I have decided to switch from full-time to part-time study for the next semesters, using my summer break to review what I might have missed. Hopefully, everything will yield results in the end.

My Ngoc, love your answer. It’s very easy to believe that our lives are miserable when faced with challenges. Our mind becomes cloudy, and we can’t see our way out. When things clear up with time and space, we realize that there are always people doing more in worse conditions than us.

I’m fortunate not to have any big challenges in my life right now. If I can remember to call on my highest self when I do have a challenge such as an interpersonal disagreement, I will pause and breathe and give the other person space and grace before I respond. I will listen fully to understand rather than just waiting for them to get done talking so I can have my turn. And I will remember that each person is the hero of their own personal story. They have something to teach me if I am willing to learn.

Barb, that reminds me of the concept of the Hero’s Journey in Jungian psychology. Thank you for your insights.

Barb, you covered it well. This is in the same ball park as taking the time to read and putting thought in our responses rather than just a simple reply.

My Ngoc, well said. To add on to what you just said and your response to my answer, life lessons show up out of the blue. There are 2 options: cancel or confirm. If we chose the first c, the same lessons will continue to show up but more intense each time. If we pick the 2nd c, our lives will be easier.

My life is currently easy, but my style for responding to challenges drawing from the wisdom of my highest self is to strike a balance between preparing for chaos and focusing on the presence. Preparation helps me cope better when I can sense challenges ahead. Focusing on the present allows me to handle the unexpected challenges more effectively. Planning ahead doesn’t garentee that everything will happen as we expect but will move us closer to the desired outcome which is the best one can ask for.

My “Lock,” I’m delighted that you brought up all our conversations. I’m so happy to have you by my side. Even though your memory of past weather or someone’s birthdate may fade, I love who you are. Remembering only what is helpful for you and our nest is enough. Love you!

“You are not the voice in your head but the one who is aware of it.” Eckhart Tolle

By reminding myself that there is a part of me that has never been afraid and calling that part of me forth. By remembering as Eckhart Tolle says that I am not the fearful voice in my head but rather the one who is aware of it. Fighting and fleeing from fear is a waste of time but facing and naming it helps me dissipates its power over me.

Carol, I’ve read one of his books before. My middle school friend, Madison, recommended “The Power of Now” to me. He can come off repetitive, but he reinforces the importance of living in the moment. We have so much going on in our minds that prevent us from doing that.

These days, I try to respond to every
    challenge with kindness, calmness, and
    Understanding. Remembering that my
emotions are like clouds, passing by.
They are not who I am. I am the sky.

Charlie, the last part stood out. It’s easy to believe that our uncomfortable emotions define us. This is where looking beyond the surface is helpful. All feelings come and go.

This past week has been filled with so many demands. My “weekly review” this morning invited me to listen to my bodily exhaustion & emotional weariness with
a desire to be taught. My highest self invited me to revisit Br. David’s wise ~Stop…Look…Go ~ practice.
I ask for the grace to live more intentionally from this place…& to exercise self-compassion when I don’t.

Gratefully I do not have any outstanding challenges at the moment. I am at home and content. Well; it seems I spoke too quickly without thinking fully. My “sister” (someone who has been in my life for 69 years is really a friend but we have lived together as sisters in the past)…I have not talked to her in over three weeks- she had called me on a Thursday and said “I will call on Sunday or before”…well that is three weeks ago. I have now called her three or four times and no response. She and her husband must be going through a rough patch again. I don’t really know what goes on- but their life is somewhat of a mess. I have tried to be helpful and supportive ….but now my higher self says to let it go. I have offered help and suggestions in the past and nothing ever is good or helps and I tear myself up with worry. Now –after many, many years I am going to let go.

Thanks for this evolving response, Nanette. It helps me..especially the invitation to “listen to one’s higher self and let it go.” I need that today.

This is a timely question for me. There is a dispute in my family between my sister and her daughter. It is breaking my heart as I love them each deeply. I don’t know all of the details as it is not my MO to mine in those sorts of situations. I am an objective listener when either party chooses to share. And yet…
So I have been asking the Divine Spirit for guidance, that I might be aware of opportunities to assist in the healing that could take place between them. When I write that, it sounds a bit arrogant. I am a skilled communicator, facilitator in difficult situations. It has been part of my life’s work. That is where my desire and confidence is based.
So what does my highest self have to offer me here? Humility, patience, openness, and awareness. And the knowing that when I act from a place of love, it’s the best I have to give.

“Acting from a place of love” are helpful words for me this day. It reminds me that Love is a Decision.
