Any outpouring of kindness is a healing wellspring. 7 Reply Kylee1 month agoKyleeHaving thoughtful conversations with someone! Acknowledging someone’s accomplishments, saying thank you, saying hello, and the easiest is to SMILE! 6 Reply Charlie T1 month agoCharlie TKindness is my goal every day. I can do things that aren’t a big lift and that don’t require elaborate plans and they can make all the difference for someone in that moment. I hold kindness as one of my core values and attributes thanks to my mom. She was always kind and taught us to think of others and to understand that we don’t know their stories and need to leave room for grace. I try to practice that always. I reread the emails I write for work before sending and think about how I would feel being on the receiving end and what assumptions I might be able to eliminate from my words to leave that room for another way of viewing the world. “This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.” -Dalai Lama Read More6 Reply Barb C1 month agoBarb CCame back to add a quotation from Maya Angelou: “Continue to be who and how you are, to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness.” I wrote a blog post a while back on kindness (http://biketoworkbarb.blogspot.com/2018/01/kindness-matters.html) that I went to for the Dalai Lama quote I shared above. As I find new quotes I want to remember I add them to that as comments so if you share any here I’ll pick them up. 2 Reply Michele1 month agoMichelesimple things – a smile, holding doors, letting others get in/pass in the car, saying hellos/thank yous. 7 Reply Mary Pat1 month agoMary PatA smile, acknowledging them, and if they need a listening ear and I have the time, listening without offering advice. 8 Reply Chester1 month agoChesterMy full and complete presence. 9 Reply Howie Geib1 month agoHowie GeibRestraint seems to be the order of the day. Holding at bay my desire to add to a conversation, bearing small discomforts to ease the way for others, move aside so others can pass. All done not in the tiresome sigh of victimhood or martyr, but offered as a way of actually seeing them and honoring them. Basically respecting others right to be. My day goes smoother when I do this. 8 Reply Maurice Frank1 month agoMaurice FrankTo smile, and listen carefully without judging. 11 Reply Laura1 month agoLauraThree kindnesses: listen, listen, listen. 10 Reply sunnypatti1 month agosunnypattiMy shining light and a friendly smile.
