Gratefulness
It’s important to build boundaries for the preservation of the sacred. No spoil sports or negative energy can permeate the carefully constructed walls as long as attention is paid to love the walls & keep them massaged with love & special attention.
Being grateful for everything in my life, which includes difficult experiences, allows me to recognize the impact it all has in shaping me. I’m resilient & strong & sassy & an advocate for myself & others. I’m able to have compassion for others because I’ve experienced the “unthinkable.” What a gift.
Of course I already know this, but the lesson has been reinforced: the “petty” behaviors of others really doesn’t need to impact me so greatly. It’s harmful to my spirit when I analyze the behavior of others. If I choose to explore some alternatives with them that’s fine, but it’s important for me to remember that their behavior is about them~not me.
My parents sent me a postcard from their vacation in Hawaii. I love that they’re enjoying the sun & sand in the middle of winter. My daughter exchanged loving texts with me & shared funny quips about my granddaughter. My sweetheart & I enjoyed a lovely home cooked meal after he arrived home from Chicago. My heart is full❤️
When I truly appreciate the “small things”, the things that I often take for granted, I can generate a deep love and reverence for the abundance in my life.
*The incredibly cute condo where I reside: so fortunate *The vast blue sky: so many stories to tell *The gorgeous abundance of food that is at my fingertips
I’m heading into a team meeting this morning. Sometimes co.workers & my supervisor can speak harshly about the families that we work with. It’s always at least a little frustrating for me. Did they agree to work w/ at.risk families & think everything would be rosy?! People in crisis can be “messy” & I can give voice to their resilience & perseverance and remain calm & loving in my delivery.
My legs have taken me on many journeys throughout my life. I have especially felt grateful when there is an extra tension that happens after pushing my body to do more, challenging it to go further & faster. My body carried me for 26.2 miles a few years ago when I decided to walk a full marathon in my 50’s. It was amazing to me that my body had the capacity to travel all the miles in training & on that special day. There is a low level soreness that occurs & it makes me feel ali...

I recently met AJ through my work. She’s a recovering alcoholic who was reuniting with her two young children after they were removed by the state & placed into foster care. She gave birth to a gorgeous baby while I was involved in her life. My admiration of AJ continues to grow and I realize how fortunate I am to have met this beautiful gem.
I’m glad you have found some healing?
Love this~wrote it in my ongoing journal of inspiration❤️
Struggle to be accurate….?
They are everywhere, indeed.
Me too! The daily questions help me to really stay focused on what’s important & that’s so valuable!
Love this short reminder~mantra worthy!
I’m doing this too, Cathy. I’m six weeks into not drinking caffeinated cola throughout the day. It has been very difficult to embrace water as my constant companion. Indeed, it is a training of the brain.
Verena, thanks for such a kind note. It’s true that if we each take the time to connect with one another the world will change.
It’s a really great plan!
Yes, please!!
