Gratefulness
Hard times, but grateful for the opportunity to grow and learn, so that I can hopefully be a light for others who are suffering. Peace
Be mindful, use all your senses and know that in this moment you are perfect.
Having very recently emerged from a dark, traumatic and frightening few years, I can honestly say that everything I am experiencing right now fills me with wonder and awe! To sleep in a proper bed as opposed to the floor, to have a strong, hot shower, to be able to buy healthy food, to hear birdsong and breathe fresh air. Everything I look at right now seems marvelous, as if I’d seen it for the very first time, and I am so grateful to have survived and be alive to the miracles of life.
Having recently moved to the countryside from the city, I’m very aware and grateful for the fresh air that I’m breathing in and it’s cleansing of both the body and the spirit.
The kitchen is such a great place to activate all of your senses, practice gratitude for the amazing food we eat, as well as mindfully meditate (especially when doing the dishes for the umpteenth time that day!!!!) So many lovely memories of sitting around a kitchen table, chatting and laughing after and during a meal. Definitely the heart of the home!
I was so happy and inspired by today’s blessing. I’m presently taking a course in intuitive healing, so it felt especially pertinent to me. I realise how much trust one needs to follow our dreams and intuitions, but by opening our minds and. heart, we can truly experience life in all its many beautiful ways, knowing that we are held and loved. Blessings and sweet dreams to all.
As soon as I saw the picture with today’s blessing, I felt tears welling up inside. I realise how isolated I’ve become in my situation, and am so grateful to be reminded that there are millions of others out there, including the beautiful people on this site, who can empathise and support, so that there is never the need to suffer alone. May each breath we take be full of peace, love and hope.
Hi Zoe Do you use Facebook? Gratefulness have a Facebook page where we can ‘meet up’ if you would like.
I’m sure your daughter will return when she feels able, but sometimes people have to experience things on their own before they realise they need help. Keep strong, keep the faith and be prepared to welcome her back with total love and non-judgement, as I’m sure you will. I’ll keep praying for you all and lighting candles. Sending you so much love.
Brilliant answer to this question, Howie! I’ve got so much resentment against my family for treating me as ‘other’ and ‘lesser’, and for not helping out my daughter and I when we were in a serious predicament, that I sometimes feel I’m going to explode!! But like you say, these feelings are corrosive and a burden. I like the idea of accepting your powerlessness to change the situation instead of spending hours working out some petty revenge or oneupmanship which, on ba...

But like you say, these feelings are corrosive and a burden. I like the idea of accepting your powerlessness to change the situation instead of spending hours working out some petty revenge or oneupmanship which, on bad days, I’m prone to do. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts and helpful path.
I am so, so sorry you’re going through this, Zoe. I can’t imagine the anxiety you’re feeling. I’ll also light a candle for your daughter and granddaughter in the hope that you hear they’re both safe and well. Should you want a listening ear, shoulder to cry on or someone to vent to, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Sometimes it’s easier to talk about things with a stranger who won’t judge or assume they know what’s best for you!!! Thinking of you and sending ...
