Through the written word and photography. Both on a very amateur level but here is where I can get lost in the process of trying to capture and express a feeling, an experience. I see gardening and cooking as creative outlets too.
Good morning everyone. It is quiet and peaceful here in my son’s flat. I have a precious hour alone and I have used it to reflect and breathe in the love and wisdom from this community. Outside the weather is grey and forbidding; a storm is forecast for later this morning when I will be driving the 50 miles to see my parents. I shall allow extra time.

I am deeply grateful this morning for the weather warning which enables me to plan accordingly and for this quiet space in a very busy day. An opportunity to draw breathe and rebalance.
I have some shopping to do ahead of seeing my parents – a few treats for them to enjoy and a gift for the friend I shall visit on my back this afternoon. She is my oldest friend and we rarely get the chance to spend time together. I feel very gratefulfor the warmth and love of friends and family and also for the gift of a stout, reliable car in which I travel safely.
Wishing you all a good day and sending blessings and love ❤️️
At this moment I would write a handwritten note to my sister. It would say, ‘I care about you, I am concerned for you. I am here when you are ready.’
I too, am rich in ways beyond measure. This morning I have a quiet space and I have so much enjoyed reading the responses and reflections from the community. Your words are riches as I absorb their wisdom. Thank you ❤️️
Simply being in this community is offering me so many new perspectives. I am so grateful for that. Outside of that the experience of supporting my parents in the final chapters of their lives continues to enrich and expand my perspective of life and of dying. A privilege to witness 🙏
These ventures sound wonderful, Dusty Su. I completely see the creativity required for each of them. You are very special to be able to ofer these gifts to the world 😊
Many useful tips here, Holly. I’ll be making some changes when I get home. And I love the conversations with your Dad ❤️️
I won’t be writing it just yet, Holly. I am meeting her for coffee on Friday afternoon. A face -to-face chat may be just what we need 😊
Yes, absolutely, Kevin. I remember well when I first started to realise that not all families were like mine. It is a rare and precious thing and I value it daily 😊
You are so right, Blossom, those opportunities come in a such a variety of ways. We are blessed when we encounter them. Thank you for reminding me of this 🙏
Your words resonate deeply, Dusty Su. Thank you 🙏
This is beautiful, Sparrow. Thank you 🙏
This is a beautiful reflection, Ose. Thank you 🙏
Heartfelt, Holly. Thank you! ❤️️
I love this, Kim 😊
This is a beautiful reflection, Samuel. I am truly wealthy too and I thank you for sharing your celebration of riches and reminded me of mine 🙏
Such a beautiful answer 🌈 And one I shall remember for I am rich in mistakes too 🙏
This is so beautiful, Kevin. I am one of 4 daughters and I think my father would say the same as you 😊 I, in turn, am rich in fathers. I may have just one but he has been a huge gift and an unending source of richness.
Mica, I’m so pleased you have power again. And yes, a blessing to be close to your children. When we are deproved of things such as power and closeness to family they become all the sweeter and we can appreciate them all the more. Which is just what I am doing now and it sounds like you are too!
Thank you, Anna. I am here until Sunday when I make the drive home, so plenty of family time to come. And a quiet hour right now with no one around. Perfect!
