Gratefulness
Most recently my mother. I have my guest solo photo exhibition at a local library , live in person snd she will be away for the opening reception . A post card arrived from her yesterday . Saying she will be with me in spirit and will see it when she gets back
Spend more time reading for pleasure and less time on social media
Waking up to live another day Being with my family Being able to hug my mom . I visited her in nyc last Saturday . Seeing my cat sleeping on my bed .
Spending time , the first thing I do is thanking God for the new day Then I read word of the day Spending quality time with my family Watching the birds on our bird feeders Walking up a challenging hill in our neighborhood Listening to music Day by day spending less time scrolling on Instagram and Facebook Saying positive affirmations Hanging out with members of a hiking and outdoors club that was created on Facebook
Detoxing from social media more. Doing more of what I do that brings me joy instead
Learning hoe up stay off social media
Workin on it by Andy Grammat and Reach up for sunrise , Duran Duran
Just breathe , be kind , live every day to the fullest
That anything is possible with love in your heart
When I recently joined a hiking club. We plan where to hike-walk and during the pandemic hiking has been a sanity saver
What can I do for my future self today . Live in the present
I am going to lead a hike tomorrow And I’m going out today to do a dry run of the layout so I can lead and be confident in where I’m going
How can I honor the tenderness within me ? By being kind to others and also making sure I take time to connect with the natural world around me .
By going out in nature and grounding myself . I also limit my viewing of news and time spent on social media
My life lesson for me today is live every day to the fullest .
What memories sustain me ? Spending many fall weekends in cape may New Jersey watching hawks and monarch butterflies migrate south . Monarchs to Mexico , hawks not sure where they go . We were able to go this October of 2020 and I feel blessed to have been able to go .
One thin I have experienced that recently opened me too a sense of wonder or awe is how beautiful and healing nature was when back in March when planes stopped flying how crisp and clean the air was and how you could see tips of famous mountains
To whom might I offer support? My friend Mary who had her body reject an elbow replacement . She didn’t have enough elbow bone left so her doctors had to take bone from her hip to make an new elbow . I pray for her every day . I have a prayer list snd I am grateful that gratefulness .org exists . And a network for grateful living . I don’t feel so alone knowing there are other like minded people here.
What is brining my life meaning right now? Waking up and seeing this question , and my family being healthy . Thanking God for every day .
Happy Friday Michele
