Gratefulness
thank you Grateful Living team and Br. David for these five pledges. I find them helpful. Each one had a certain ‘ouch’ factor. That is a good thing I believe. I keep checking situations against these five. Often I recognise fear being present and it makes me want to reframe and have trust and creativity at the root. Just some thoughts. Thank you again.
hi Elizabeth, In your last paragraph you speak of breathing and giving thanks. That I can relate to, simplemind that I am. Even something that simple can be questioned I am sure. But I know the feeling of being grateful is a fine and desirable feeling. If I can find an acceptable way to get into contact with it, I go for it ? and breathing certainly is that for me.
hi Kristi, thank you for this… especially nr 2 (We can practice being grateful for what we take for granted) resonates with me. Being grateful for the presence of air for instance. For me this means I can legitimately feel grateful always. I experience it is a force that is more powerful and deeper than anger or despair. Also it seems like the ‘stop look go’ method is organically part of it because of its wide and deep presence.
wonderful program and I would love to see a Dutch version 🙂 Any chance of this crossing the ocean? I volunteer for translation work
thank you Terry. What resonates with me in particular is radical gratefulness, especially in the face of things going wrong. This applies both for the outside world and inside myself. This is what my heart tells me. I want to be grateful, it feels healthy to be grateful. This in itself is a reason to be grateful for everything and anything, good or bad 🙂 In a more reasonable way, bad things leave open the opportunity for change for the better.
