Gratefulness
I think food, especially vegetables, are so beautiful. When I see them gathered, I always wish I could paint an amazing picture. The colors fill my spirit. Instead I use my cooking as a gratitude practice. I feel the privilege of having beautiful, healthy, fresh food. I try to prepare it with care and little waste. When I serve, I give the most yummy morsel, beautiful piece, etc the reverence it deserves.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, your story, and your gift with me this morning. I am so very grateful. Know that your writing is inspirational and infused with an honest perspective that I have never witnessed until today. I heard the fullness of your message and all the pain and promise you have shared. Thank you, Danny.
I have grown in my appreciation for differences.
I think service is a way of being in the world. Every action, if done with care and generosity, feels like service-to others, to the planet, to the greater good, to oneself . . . Service and staying present feel inseparable.
Today the outside wind is quiet, but I have had some emotional weather lately. Thank you for the reminder to honor and to notice all that it brings.
My body and soul needs some gardening right now. Enjoy your day:)
I, too, have begun to write letters. Looking through keepsakes during quarantine, I noticed that I was filled with joy and love as I reread letters. Clearly they were important to me when I received them, so I tucked them away. Little did I know how important they really were. I also let the person know that the letter sent years ago was still delivering:) I wrote letters to my granddaughters last week. There is something powerful about sending something tangible. They truly are love letters....

I stand for the plants, birds, soil, air, and, really, all of us when I live with purpose, when I pay attention, when I follow through. I stand with gratitude when I know I am one of many who are doing their best and living with faith that our collective best will be enough.
