Gratefulness
For this feeling of anxiety and uncertainty to end. As much as I try, I cannot get rid of the grinding feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I am rich because I am blessed with wonderful friends and family members who have been more than kind and stood by me during a recent job loss. I am rich because I am fortunate to have full use of my faculties: I can see, hear, walk, lift and use my hands any way I want. I do not want to take those things for granted. I am rich for so many other reasons, but the ability to see bright colors, to walk my dog, to drive where I need to go–these are all amazing everyday things that I ten...

The sky. It is immense and beautiful. Our house. It is solid, and warm today when it’s below 0 outside. The hills behind our house. They are so beautiful and they are enduring.
The velvety softness of Lucy’s ears when I pet them. The sunsets here never fail to amaze. The ducks on the pond near our house.
