I have peace at home and within but I am troubled that so many do not. Our leaders are contributing to the suffering of others here and abroad. I am not at peace because there is little I can do to change that right now.
I recently had dinner with former work colleagues who are working in health care and human services. There are doing important work in helping others. It reminded me that in the chaos and mean spiritedness we are seeing in our country and the world fostered by our political leaders, there are many many people doing there jobs to care and help others hoping for a better day and supporting environment. They are sustaining some of our important values.
As a good person who contributed.
This morning when I walked the beach with my dog Molly, the smell of the salt water and roar of the waves gave me great joy and pleasure.
All of it because the body is so amazing regardless of age and present capacity. The wonder is the creation and integration of the body and the mind. It is a statement of our spirituality.
My life has be full, rewarding and at times challenging. The difficulties or challenges are a big part of who I am today. Often when I am faced with difficulty, I have to reach back to remind myself how I have been able to not only move through but also to benefit from this experience. And many of my difficulties are self created.
