Gratefulness
Children of Men. It brought me to tears and not many movies do that. Back when it was released it seemed to me as a warning of what the future might hold. Sadly so much has happened in recent years that many aspects of the movie are facts of life today. But a silver lining does emerge and for a brief moment there is a sense of awe and hope for a better brighter future. I had read the book by PD James before the movie was released and it did haunt me. I usually find movies a let down after having read the book, but this movie did not fail and really impacted me.
Thank you Brother David for these thoughtful words. I wish you peace and good health for this Holiday season and for 2021. You have been a guide to me in so many ways. Thank you.
Kristi, thank you for your thought provoking words. It grieves me to see what we are doing to this world and the impact this has on the many who live on this earth, human and otherwise. Our responsibility is to recognize the value of those gifts, not just to us, but all living things and not to take them lightly. I try to...
Kristi, thank you for your thought provoking words. It grieves me to see what we are doing to this world and the impact this has on the many who live on this earth, human and otherwise. I realised in reflecting on your article that many of my gratitude logs focus on the beauty and splendor of nature. You are so right about the perpetual flow of gifts. Our responsibility is to recognize the value of those gifts, not just to us, but all living things and not to take them lightly. Thank you as always for a timely reflection. Fran

I do like your comments about winds at the shore. I always feel a thrill when at the coast and feel the wind coming in from the sea, but had never thought of it as a ” cleaning out”. What a good way to look at this experience. Thank you.
