I am avoiding nothing. There is always plenty of things to keep me busy, but being busy doesn’t mean I am avoiding anything. Sometimes being busy is just being busy. There is a Grook by Piet Hein that reads “Problems worthy of attach prove their worth by hitting back.” Even if I wanted to avoid something, it will follow me, so I might as well just face it and get it over with.
I wholeheartedly agree with Christina: the challenging situations that have brought out the best in me is every day life.
Perhaps the important words here are “stop seeking”. It gives the feel of frenetic energy, busyness. If we stand still, it is possible that more, better, different will find us.
Faith and sleep.
“really well” is a rather nebulous phrase as what it means for one person isn’t necessarily applicable for another. My ongoing definition of “love” is that it does what is in the best interest of the beloved. By that definition, I have loved most people “really well”.
Remain aware every moment.
assumptions are a part of everyday life. We assume the lights will come on when we flip the switch, our toilets will flush, our cars will start…..if they don’t, we take measures to find out why and to restore them to working order. If we assume people are complex personalities who carry within the image of God, we might be less suspicious and more open to understanding. If they are, indeed, a menace, we can recognize that and move on without being harshly judgmental.
Letting go of anger or resentments would change the world, if everyone did it; but I can change only myself. Letting them go would be healing and wholesome and result in peace within.
To sit in my chair, listen to the wind and feel the plethora of emotion that sit within me.
I express gratitude thru my life, all that living entails.
Clear sinuses. Actually, I don’t take them for granted. I am grateful for them every moment. I hate it when they are congested; I think I am allergic to winter, which is sad because I live in Duluth where it stays winter until mid-May.
I am sorry for your loss. There really is no way around it. Peace be yours.
enjoy the anesthesia. i personally like nitrous oxide!
Hi Christina! I haven’t been here awhile but I was so glad to see you here today! I agree with your answer to the question of the day. Cheers and blessings for a pleasant day. Deb
I think one of the most important responsibilities a pet owner has is to provide a good death for their beloved pet. You did that, Francine.
Dear Shaun, there are times when it feels like life is a bitch. Fortunately, it doesn’t stay that way.
Grateful Sea! Thank you! I am glad you are a wind listener, too! Blessings of peace be ours.
I haven’t been here awhile but I think of you frequently. I have begun attending the Quaker services here. I have been getting FriendsJournal for a year and find much that resonates with me.
Hope you’re doing well. Deb
