This is an interesting one for me. I just had an epiphany about this. I do not shine my light when I… do not ACCEPT. WHAT. IS. Sometimes I get in a rut because I think: why does this have to happen? Or why does my daughter have to act this way? Or why cannot we all just get along. I have found that when I get to acceptance (And some days that takes a lot longer than others… 🙂 ) then I can be grateful , and shine my light again. It seems the best way to get to acceptance fo...
It seems the best way to get to acceptance for me is STOP – take a deep breath, LOOK at the blessings and opportunities in my life and GO – towards the opportunities of LIGHT. Thanks for allowing me to share!
Turning and returning to breath
And these facts that Kristi Nelson notes in “Wake Up Grateful”
Amazing body facts:
Your body produces approximately 2.5 million new red blood cells each second
Your heart beats around 100,000 times each and every day
Your lungs can take in more than 3,000 gallons of air each day
Your brain uses 20% of your body’s oxygen and caloric intake, even though it is only about 2% of your body mass.

Life is a miracle!
For me it’s firsts. First moment of the day. The first breath. First moment seeing family members. First time I have seen a niece or nephew in a long time (like yesterday). That first hot drink of the day on a cold cold winter day. First smile of the day. First hug of the day. First….
I thought of this today:
We are human beings. Just be
In this breath and in this moment, I can feel the possibility. I can feel the opportunity. I can live gratefully…
“Your Grace Finds Me”
By Matt Redman. Wonderful song about God’s grace, appreciating the little things and living gratefully
“Be kind and be grateful”
I am 46. I have a bit of wisdom which is a joy. My kids are teenagers – pain and joy there 🙂 . A bit of life in the rear view but looking forward to what’s next. Bliss
Having a loving wife is a joy as well
LOL. This is a funny one for me because I tend to “listen first, talk second”. In a group of talkers, I find myself listening more than talking. But that being said, of course I have said things I have regretted. Yes, the pause can be very helpful. I imagine it can help and have tried using the pause in other aspects of life also. I feel meditation is like a “pause” in the present moment.
Patience. I am a pretty patient person. I try to share it each day at work, at home and with everyone I meet.
Today is Inauguration Day in the US. I pray, long and hope for peace for today and throughout this year.
Love. The world must keep love in its vision. Love in its most basic form is the answer. We must love source with our strength, all our mind, everything. And we must love our sister and brother as we love us. Maybe more so.
The world has so much potential. It’s inhabitants can love in the most amazing ways. From giving water to a stranger to bringing justice for all.

I try each day to love. I do not always succeed. But I attempt to help others when I can and wish others well when I cannot. Love.
We have a food pantry at my church. My mother in law volunteers there. One day, a man was passing out $100 bills to the clients. As the story goes, the man inherited some money from a relative and wanted to “pay it forward”.
Also, I have witnessed customers paying for others at the coffee shop drive thru.
Kindnesses are happening all the time. Let’s notice them and broadcast them to the world … to drown out the bad!
Nice. I love meditation too!
I love this
I discovered the song from either from a book called “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voskamp or on Ann’s blog
Kevin, thanks for your response! Yes I have 2 daughters and empathize with the bathroom predicament. Daughters are awesome – very grateful for them. Teenage years are tough as you know – rebelling and attitude, but moments of pure joy as well. We have 2 good kids. Glad to hear that life is good for you. I like your speed bump analogy. There is so much wisdom on this site. Many thanks
I like how you say “life has more ups than downs”
