The daily gifts I get from people are the warm smiles or eye contact of kindness. The gift of driving safely. The gift of so many of them choosing to work with compassion or completing daily task that benefits me and my love ones. I can pass these very gifts by not only doing them but speaking on them. I can improve areas of weakness that can make me be a more responsible driver. I can work keeping a frame of mind that is positive and may produce quality work from me.
I have received the kindness of a friendly wave from a neighbor while out on my morning walk. I have received words of positive affirmation from those that express how I inspire them. I complimented someone dear to me on a beautiful dress – she is gifting me that very dress and another one that is blue. I purpose to practice kindness regularly so I’m blessed when many many return the kindness especially in times of a problem.
The most recent is going to places to eat and seeing my former students handing me the food. I SHOUT of JOY every single time. They mutually jump or smile big with the same joy. My babies are getting jobs now. It makes me proud & emotional. They have all given me wonderful updates on how things have been in high school (I’m a middle school educator).
It looks like all people respecting and embracing nature. It looks like all being able to recognize that everyone is connected in some way and to show honor and value of all lives. It looks like the commitment and pursuit of “balance” in all things.
Appreciate that I’m gifted. Unplug from the busyness of life regularly and think and meditate on my life purpose. Respect the gifts of others. Be intentional in all I do & set aside emotions sometimes. My actions should be representative of the gifts I have without any words explained and I have to remember that. What a question full of treasure.
I could take a selfie of me smiling and add a colorful text “All the while, SMILE. I love u.” Later on, take another selfie pic this time of me hugging myself that says “You’ve been stung by the Hug Bug”. I’m going to do this for real. Lol. I love this question.
The cultivated joy and bond I share with my 4 children (Ages 14, 11, 3, & 7 months). The fresh early newness of the morning. A blank sheet of paper (I’m an artist). The constant excitement that the youth I work with show when they first see me for the day. This Gratefulness app has been working a special number on me also with being ignited.
I stand for harmony, unity & balance. I stand for cherishing my yesterday, today and tomorrow. I stand for touching lives for good and growth of myself and others. I stand for my purpose and the beautiful purpose of others I need and the entire world.
Kevin I just LOVE this response. While I enjoy the presence of others already, the pandemic has given me a much STRONGER appreciation of their existence and the timely moment that we are in proximity of one another. Your response reminds me of the movie “I Am Legend” starring Will Smith.
Thanks for sharing. I have been there with the lack of support from family. Personally it began to push me to a place where I was my own cheerleader and became open to the family outside of family for support and the objective listening ears. In regard to breaking down…try being in tune to your feelings and as those rotted & troublesome pieces that are wearing on you are removed seek out the much needed pieces that build you. In regard to breaking down…try being in tune to your feelings and as those rotted & troublesome pieces that are wearing on you are removed seek out the much needed pieces that build you. I became very quiet on my family. They all quickly begin to notice the distance & silence. They now are careful with how they share how they feel and respect my individuality. I send a double quadruple dose of energy your way.
