an opportunity to dig deep into what I am avoiding. An opportunity to
acknowledge the sadness and confusion I am hiding and over eating and drinking to cover up. It scares me and that too is an opportunity.
Meditate, stay present; clear out the smog of too much news, too much social networking. Focus more on be-ing instead of Do-ing…Quiet is the incubator for reflection and growth. Be still, wait, detach, look, listen.
This question is difficult for me. I’ve been feeling defensive and irritable — the isolation of SIP is challenging to manage. But I can work with this: I can be a tender wounded spiritual warrior. I don’t have to be perfect and that is a relief. Be well friends.
Today I want to avoid the noise, to not feed the beast of bad news and tragedy. I am sending prayers for all people to stay safe, do no harm. When fear arrives, I will stand back, take a deep breath and turn my mind to God. Peace, peace, peace.
The longer I experience shelter in place and spending lots of time with my lovable feline companion, I see how wise our 4 footed friends are. They are honest and true and live in this moment. They are blessedly unburdened by what happened last week, last year and they are wise enough to not preview tomorrow. I am going to learn from my dear cat.
Today I can begin to ponder the benefit of not making snap judgments and decisions. We live in culture that rewards fast action, decisiveness, rapid assessments and opinions. My body is telling me to pay attention! My body has felt neglected and taken for granted . Living in a time of pandemic is stressful and my body wants to support me through this time and beyond. My faithful, miraculous body gently and lovingly asks me to resume good healthy eating, getting regular rest and to walk and stretch this magnificent machine! Thank you dear strong body.
