In this space for reflection and thanksgiving, I am consciously thankful for good health, a safe home, food to eat, a loving life partner and children, a verdant garden, friends with whom I can laugh and weep, kind neighbors, music that soothes my soul, the birds and bunnies that feast on the seeds we place in the outdoor feeder, and hope in a future where there is enough for all. I pray and hope in a theology of abundance.
Standing silent in a grove of sequoia trees … feeling a profound sense of grandeur and divine presence surrounding me and infusing me with joy and wonder at the sheer beauty of creation.
Pausing to breathe – to take in precious air to give energy to my body – placing my hands over my heart to feel the intake and outflow of breath. A blessing.
Sitting in solitude as a peaceful, soft dawn breaks
Thankfulness — for both blessings and challenges in my life.
Striving to live a life in a conscious, mindful way constantly reminds me that any expectations I may set are just whimsical thoughts from my ego. Letting go …. that’s the challenge!
