We regret to report that the Angels are currently not in service! Our tech team is working on a solution and we hope to have this feature functioning again soon. Thank you for your patience.
If you like, you can enjoy the practice by listening to the chants without the accompaniment of the images.
The Angel of the Hour feature is a legacy piece that was created by Brother David and the Gratefulness.org staff in the 1990’s. It features chants by the monks of Mt. Saviour monastery and images by Fra Angelico.
What is an ‘hour’? Is it nothing more than a unit of time composed of 60 minutes? Is it measured by numbers or by impressions, feelings, moods? Like the seasons of the year, the seasons of the day differ by the way we experience them. Each hour we encounter has a character and a presence infinitely richer and more complex than clock time. As a messenger from another dimension — an angel as it were — an hour has its own unique significance. Here is your opportunity to meet the angels of the hours, to befriend them, and to allow them to befriend you.

Where do I find the English translation of these chants?
I am grateful that I have found this site, especially that their is not a registration or membership fee!
I listen to these beautiful chants almost every day. I know that angels are my protectors and my spiritual angel that watches over me always is St Michael. Thanking you for this special place to pray.
How beautiful and peaceful to be with the Angels! A wonderful way to pause at different times throughout the day and turn within in silence! Thank-you for this offering! God bless you.🕊
These are so very beautiful! Just love each of them. Thank you for such a sweet gift!
The angle helps me a lot to make sense of my work, to make meaningful breaks and work joyfully and responsibly. Though I am still sorting out how to match the hours with my working day, which starts later and is not over by sundown as in St Benedict’s time. hope it works out…
I very much appreciate this gift. Thank you!
I love this. it really reminds me to take necessary breaks through out the day when they are needed.
Love the wonderful Angel of the Hour. Thank you. Listening to the music and and chants are such a gift to my soul and heart.
I need support… money… a job… and safety / or the feeling of peace… in a world that always seems dark… I need light…
Sending you love, faith and a reminder that All IS well – even when we can not see it, feel it or hear it. Inside each of us is PEACE and LOVE. I have many moments when I have to remind myself of this too. It’s been a month since you last shared your longing for many things – I pray they have come your way.
As do I, as do I….may you find what you need ʕ ⁎❛ั ुꈊ͒ੁ❛ั ु)
I’m so happy to have found this link! I thought that it was gone…but obviously when the site was re-designed it was moved! I’ve missed the angels and am grateful to have found them again.
I love this so much! I have been using it for a week now. I set my alarm on my phone to tell me it’s time to check in with an angel. And then I read the little bit of advice and listen to the chanting. It has been wonderful. ….so grateful..
