I can’t think of much I can do today. I’ve been a bit “under the weather” as they say. My son came this morning and made sure I have everything I need. Thankfully, Michele pointed out some things I can do today and I will definitely do them!
I’m home after several days away and feeling like I’ve burned plenty of carbon this week, even though I used mass transit every time I could. Our Farmers Market is only open on Saturdays this time of year so I can’t take my usual long walk down to buy locally grown veggies. Kevin’s story about picking up trash reminds me that I keep meaning to take a bag when we go for a walk and pick up what I see along the way so if I go for a walk today I will do that. I need to spend time looking for the countertops and cabinetry we will use in a sorely needed kitchen remodel and will be looking at the environmental footprint of each option to keep those as low as I can within our budget.
I am hearing lots of chirps and it worries me. I don’t want those birds having babies too early and then have crazy cold weather here in Michigan. The last couple years we have had a robin’s nest on the front porch with two families last year. It is a joy even if messy to clean up.
I promise not to frack for oil in
my backyard. Or my neighbors
backyard. Seriously though, I will
continue doing what I have been
doing for many many years. I don’t
support factory farming. I gave up
eating mammals over forty years
ago and the poultry I eat,
comes from local cage-free,
outdoor raised farms. I am fortunate
to live in a area, where this is easy
and not too expensive to do.
On the flip, I will be driving my truck
to go riding this morning. Burning
fossil fuels and contributing to our
CO2 problem. Soon, I will have a
much more fuel efficient vehicle
and will cut my emissions in half.
I have a long day of volunteering today- and will be mindful of the earth in all that I do…cleaning tables, picking up rubbish and doing what needs to be done.
Continuing to feed the steers in locations that the resulting manure is not able to contaminate the Alamosa River that bisects our place. Incorporating this manure into the hay fields so it nourishes the roots and soil when I irrigate them this coming spring and summer.
Thank you, Joseph. I think that’s
such an important thing to do.
Having been to Switzerland a
a few times, I’ve noticed how
they fence off sensitive areas
and move the cows around
from pasture to pasture.
I live in an area where there are
many dairy farms located on
or next to streams and creeks.
The owners seem to have no
regard for the waterways.
I can walk like feet are kissing the earth! Thay said once take each step in peace. Take each step like you are kissing the earth with your feet. I love that ! I’m so grateful for having feet I can walk with on lovely Mother Earth ! Today is Mother’s Day here in Norway! Happy Mother’s Day, beautiful Mother Earth !
I live in a coastal community adjacent to the city of New Bedford, MA USA, which has a recreational area called the Harbor Walk. The walkway sits atop a hurricane barrier that protects the nearby harbor. The parking area for visitors is frequently strewn with litter, not because people are careless, (Well, some are, I’m sure) but because it’s often very windy and all manner of stuff flies out of people’s cars when they open their doors. During the height of the pandemic I went there often to walk and seeing the litter everywhere always bugged me. I used to bring my long-handled gripper and collect a bag of trash before I left. I keep thinking that I want to get back there, for the walk, and with the promptings of today’s question, to collect some trash, too. My “dance card” is full for today, but tomorrow, here I come!
Praying for all the helpers and send all light possible generated from my heart to have people in Syria and Turkey to help manifest receiving the urgently needed shelter, warmth, water and food, and praying for inspiring consolation and hope of His Love.

Restocked our cupboard to feed the birds.
I planted some flowers.

I hope you feel better Carol. Get some rest, relax and rejuvenation:)
Thanks, Michele
I can plant seeds in the garden with my son. 🌱♥️

Good idea about the trash. Maybe that will just get me outside. I have only walked once outside since my surgery and not far.
Oh, I wish you were doing my kitchen too, it needs it so bad, but I don’t want to do it because we really need something smaller.
To get outside and say thank you as I kiss the earth with my feet, breathe the air, see the sky, hear the chirps of the birds and touch a tree.

Recycle, turn water off while brushing teeth (not letting it run), unplug appliances, use Eco settings on washer
Happy Sunday everyone 🙂
GO EAGLES! 🦅💚
My husband is a big Denver Broncos fan, he is from Denver. He is rooting for KC but I chose Philly for the city of love and PA friends.
Even though the Eagles lost, it was a really great game to watch. There were some incredible plays/catch’s.

No emissions from me today. I’m off and not leaving the house!

Happy Mother’s Day:)
That’s a beautiful saying. Happy Mother’s Day!

I will light a candle on this site for Turkey and Syria. Prayers for all.
I am with you in prayer, O.Christina.
I am as well… Prayers for all who are helping the earthquake victims find food, warmth and ways to deal with their overwhelming grief.
