Is this eCourse “Live”?
For the most part, no. The videos within the eCourse are pre-recorded. You will receive an email each week which contains a link to that week’s session. You can enjoy the video and engage with the questions for reflection at your leisure during the week (or at a later time). There will be one “live” conference call on May 10, 2017 with Lynne Twist that will be recorded.
What is a “Learning Profile”?
Your Learning Profile is created automatically when you register for this eCourse. It will allow you access to the course when you are logged in, and gives you the ability to leave reflections in the sessions. Your Learning Profile will be used for all current and future learning opportunities on learn.gratefulness.org. The Learning Profiles are separate from the profiles on our main site, Gratefulness.org – they are not the same, but you could use the same login details for both. If you forget your password, you can reset your password here.
I’m having trouble viewing the embedded video. What can I do?
Please click on the word “vimeo” in the right-hand corner of the screen. This will allow you to view the video directly on our vimeo channel.
What do I do if I experience other “technical issues” during the eCourse?
We very much hope you won’t (!) but if you do, please contact us. In the drop down list for “Reason for getting in touch,” please select “Technical issue.”
I have not received eCourse emails. What is wrong?
Please be sure to add “email@example.com” to your email Contacts. Emails with links to the week’s course session are sent out each Wednesday (until June 21, 2017). If you do not receive these emails please check your “Promotions,” “Social,” and Junk Mail/Spam folders. If none of these work, please contact us and we will manually send you a link to the missing eCourse session.
Do I “have” to do all the practices?
The practices are entirely optional. They have been designed to deepen your experience of the material and to guide you in connecting with what feels most true for you. There is no right or wrong way to do this eCourse. The extent and ways in which you wish to engage with the material are entirely up to you.
Will I have access to the eCourse material after the eCourse ends?
The eCourse session pages will be available online for three months after the course ends (until September 21, 2017). If you would like to refer to the materials at a later date, we invite you to download pdfs of the video transcripts and copy and paste the questions and practice suggestions into a file on your computer so that you can review at your leisure. Access to the online pages will discontinue on September 21, 2017.
Can I send questions to Lynne Twist and Br. David Steindl-Rast during the eCourse?
Unfortunately, Lynne and Br. David will not be available to answer questions during the eCourse. Br. David is in semi-seclusion at his monastery in Austria and Lynne is traveling. However, Lynne will be joining us for a live conference call [date TBA], and can answer questions at that time.
Will the additional resources be accessible after the eCourse ends?
Most of the resources featured in the eCourse will remain on our website after the eCourse ends. We invite you to visit often!
Will the eCourse be available “On-Demand” in the future?
Yes. When it becomes available we will announce it in our monthly newsletter. If you would like to subscribe to our newsletter, you can do so here.
Will I be able to communicate with program staff during the eCourse?
We are available for emailed questions Monday-Friday, Eastern Time, and we do our best to get to everyone’s questions. We are a dedicated but very small staff. We invite your patience and hope that the eCourse is designed in such a way that you will be able to participate with delightful autonomy.
If the content of this eCourse raises challenging emotions for you and you find yourself needing additional support, please do not hesitate to consult a medical or mental health professional.
Will I be able to communicate with other eCourse participants?
All registrants will have the ability to share their reflections at the bottom of each week’s course page. Sharing your experiences and commenting on the reflections of others can deepen and enhance the experience for everyone. There is no private messaging capacity.
